yesterday's results LOSC 0 Paris FC 4 SDR 2 ASSE 0 FCF 91 3 EAG 1 MHSC 2 FC Dijon 0 Tonight FCGB v PSG. Top four qualify for the play-offs, bottom get relegated to Division 2.
PSG 3 Bordeaux 0 1) Karchaoui obviously had a great match. Thought Groenen was excellent too. Some fans/viewers have singled her out for criticism, and I don’t know what match they were matching. 2) Le Guilly played pretty well. 3) Troare had a poor match in my opinion. 4) Everyone else was fine or average. Le Bihan was recently on the podcast “In These Cleats” where they briefly talked about the American obsession with playoffs. The hosts could have asked Le Bihan how she felt about this recent change.

Match day 2 will see the big game Paris SG v Olympique Lyonnais at the Parc des Princes on Sunday 1 Octobre. Those key games value has now been downgraded due to the play offs as before they could decide the title as early as matchday 2 and now they are only worth three points.
Lyon 1 - PSG 0 from a PSG perspective 1) I don't know exactly what to make of Baltimore. She often holds the ball up well, and she switches the ball very well. However, she doesn't have a consistently good end product, and she can be loose with the ball leading to dangerous opposition chances (i.e., misplaying the ball and fouling Horan for the FK on the winning goal just seconds after Groenen/Vangsgaard recovered the ball). 2) I think Picaud could/maybe should have saved Le Sommer's goal, but she had too good of a match overall to be critical there. Great saves on Bacha and Damaris (i.e., another needlessly conceded FK, that time by Vangsgaard). 3) I will always hype Karchaoui's offensive/progressive play, but defensively, she can leave big gaps behind her at times. Normally, that's from losing the ball high up the pitch, but on the winning FK, she just Le Sommer have a free run through on goal. 4) Groenen did have a couple struggles in the first half trying to manage Horan and Van de Donk and at times Bacha, but what she consistently does on both sides of the ball is truly elite in my opinion. Great recoveries/ball progressions that consistently lead to good attacks/shots (i.e., the steal on Majri and smart layoff to Vangsgaard catalyzed arguably PSG's best team attack the whole match), and that smooth weak foot backheel to Karchaoui is just another addition to her archive of skill passes. 5) Geyoro with a personal battle vs Endler today. Three good/great attempts at goal, and three good/great saves from Endler. I honestly think the Geyoro, Groenen, and Jean-Francois midfield as a whole today was good, and those three together are typically good in my opinion. 6) PSG mainly absolutely needs more/better from Martens, Baltimore, and Bachmann. Obviously talking about previous matches regarding Martens and Bachmann; I'm surprised Martens didn't play at all, and Bachmann got less than 20 minutes. Chawinga did look pretty good on her debut - constant movement, great pace, and great work ethic/physicality. I will be interested to see how many minutes Katoto will get vs Saint-Etienne on Friday.

A few confusing FBref stats for me from PSG 1 - Saint-Etienne 0 1) Struggling to see how Albert can be credited with 6/7 tackles, 4/5 challenges, and 3 blocks. Generous numbers based on my eye test and understanding of those stats. Regardless, at DM, she got bypassed regularly. At CM, she was better defensively coming from a higher position tracking back. Still misplayed the ball and wasn’t great recovery wise on the almost own goal in the 85th minute. 2) Also unsure about 283 yards progressive passing distance for Albert. Felt more like 150 to 200 yards. Largely good/great passing, but a lot of Saint-Etienne’s dangerous moments came right from Albert misplaying the ball. 3) Definitely not sure how Jean-Francois can be credited with 204 yards progressive passing distance from her cameo. There was one long clearance that Chawinga somehow turned into an accurate pass, but that was pretty much it based on my recollection. Not 100% sure, but it seems like Groenen and Le Guilly were completely rested for United. Baltimore and Jean-Francois were partially rested. Maybe Vangsgaard was rested as well. Interested to see how many minutes Martens, Bachmann, and Katoto will get vs United.
Yes Precheur at United in mind and rotated. Regarding the stats the Opta people are responsible for those.

Champions League results were ok but not great. Paris FC had a creditable draw with last year's finalist Wolfsburg 3-3 at home, qualification will be tough. Paris SG who are certainly nowhere near the level where they should be drew 1-1 at Manchester United which is a good result considering their lack of form.
PSG were excellent in the first half and still had good moments in the second half. It should have been like a 2-1 or 3-1 win in my opinion. I also thought they were pretty good vs Lyon, but again, there was poor finishing and good keeping then. I think Saint-Etienne has been PSG’s one truly poor match so far this season, and that had some notable squad rotation. Their finishing form has not been great though, and Geyse and corners definitely concern me for next week.

Google Translate of one tweet says the fireworks were set off by minors who weren’t allowed into the stadium. Crazy. I suppose it wouldn’t have mattered this match, but once Katoto is fully match fit again, she has to set up her teammates for easy finishes instead of shooting from tight angles (i.e. missing a wide open Vangsgaard in the 5th minute). Groenen and Karchaoui as usual were my PSG standouts in the first half. Reims hit the bar with their only attack following PSG giving up an easily avoidable corner.
Game was moved to Poissy as usual is damaged due to a mushroom. Poissy rough area, full of "racaille" roughly translated as scum. Hence stupid teenagers who took revenge for being refused entry to the game as they had no ID.

Lyon and PFC are clear and unbeaten. Actually the top 4 are unbeaten, at the bottom of the table Big point for le havre and Bordeaux.
Mischevious minors (sounds like a metal band ) helped Kinga Szemik to her 4th clean sheet in the league (and also 2nd for Katarzyna Kiedrzynek). Szemik extended her contract with Reims till the end of the current season but I wouldn't be surprised if she will get poached by some top tier club during the winter break.
At the same time, the play-off format allow them to finish in fourth place and fight for the title. Having a play-off really dilute the League interest at the top, for those who used to fight for the title. But it opens the door for all the teams that used to fight for the 3rd place and now have a chance to win the title.
It would be a shame if PSG loses this match by forfeit as the club and the PSG 's supporters are not responsible of what happened. yet i don't worry for PSG, sure it will be in the first four at the end of the season aiming for the title and/or a CL qualif.
