I agree, but PSG play the last place team with one win. Lyon play Reims, who are in sixth and forced Lyon to a PK shootout (after 90 minutes) in an earlier cup round. Also, if PSG beat Lyon and Soyaux Charente, then Lyon drawing Reims would be enough to give PSG the title.

Next week-end is the French Cup final in Orleans. The league game takes place on 21 May at the Parc des Princes. Lyon are currently three points ahead of PSG.

Lyon will win the League with a win at PSG, a draw would put them in the driving seat as they would only need a draw at home to Reims to be crowned champions.
A PSG win, regardless of the scoreline would see PSG go top and only needing to beat bottom of the table Soyaux on final day.

The D1 Arkema first tie breaker is head to head and PSG won away at Lyon and winning at home would give them the tie breaker.

Wow, I didn't know about the tiebreaker being head to head and not GD. Thanks. The draw yesterday was frustrating, but it doesn't really change anything for PSG. (The draw vs Fleury is still frustrating to me.)

Well, the regulations are not easy to find and read if you don't speak French. It is like two big handbooks...

Lyon defeated PSG 2-1 with an Hegerberg double and a Bachmann penalty. PSG could also have got a second penalty that was not given. PSG did not offer much and I would be surprised if they can beat Lyon next week.
They also lost the ultras support as that group CUP is on strike as their are protesting against the owner's bad management of the team.

PSG should have also got a second penalty. Van de Donk somehow keeps getting away with no second yellows (i.e., Chelsea second leg) and not getting penalized for bad challenges.

Also, what about Hegerberg on her second goal? I know camera angles can be quite deceiving, but wasn't she in all likelihood offside?

PSG didn't offer much, but like Wolfsburg for three halves of the UWCL quarterfinal, neither did Lyon. A potentially offside goal, both goals coming off bad mistouches from PSG players, and a foul from Van de Donk not getting called as a PK. Next weekend, I'd keep the same backline, play only one of Hamraoui and Geyoro alongside Albert and Groenen, and play Fazer, Vangsgaard, and Bachmann up top.

Carpenter's a very peculiar selection at RB given how little she has played in the league this season. Bacha has only played a little more than half the max possible league minutes so far, but she's a questionable omission given her assist/expected assist stats.

Lyon win the League with their 1-0 away win at PSG thanks to sub Bruun.

    1. Lyon 58 pts
    2. PSG 52 pts

For the final WCL place three teams are in it:

    3. Paris FC 39 pts
    4. Montpellier 37 pts
    5 Fleury 36 pts

Paris FC have the head to head against Montpellier
Fleury have the head to head against Paris FC.

    Rodez- Paris FC
    Fleury- Guingamp
    Dijon-Montpellier

At the bottom of the table, Soyaux are down, they could fold soon. For the second relegation place Rodez and Dijon are level on points. Rodez ahead on head to head.

    Rodez- Paris FC
    Dijon-Montpellier

As those two teams are playing two teams fighting for a champions league place, those should be very tense games.

You mentioned that Soyaux could fold. Curious to know how different the requirements are in 1st division vs 2nd division? Do you know what they are? I am sure financial obligations change for teams moving up? How big is the difference? What other things have to change as well?

Soyaux are an independent clubs who have been struggling for years to complete their budget. For the last few seasons the DNCG which controls all the pro League budgets in France has been sending them in D2 administratively after each season. But they managed to win their place back on appeal by pledging to get cash injection to balance the budgets.

They have been finally caught out and cannot play the players housing and some invoices.
It is all documented in the local paper as well as sometimes in the national press.

    https://www.foot-national.com/foot-feminin/soyaux--un-depot-de-bilan-en-fin-de-saison---820781

    https://www.sofoot.com/breves/on-dirait-quon-gene-lache-le-president-de-soyaux

Their budget is 1.2 M € and they are struggling to close it. Their president said in the interview that every summer for the last three years he had to pay a lot of money to cover the shortage in the budget.

Unlike a club like Lyon who can take 12M from the men's finances to prop up the women section, Soyaux have to do it on their own. Lyon has sponsorship that covers around half of the budget.

We will have a good idea how Lyon budgets and spends now that Michelle Kang as taken a 52% share of Olympique Lyonnais Women for an alleged 50 M €

In D2 Feminine the two promoted teams to the T1 are already known: Lille in group A and St-Etienne in group B are going up. The final matchday will decide which teams will go down to the newly created Division 3.

In Group A , two teams are already down Issy and CA Paris, six teams are fighting for two places to stay up. In group B five teams are already down Toulouse, Yzeure, Le Puy,Clermont and
Nîmes. two teams will fight for the remaining place.

Two teams relegated from the D2 Feminine to the newly created D3 Feminine have been demoted to the Regional 1 the fourth tier following the annual financial check by the control entity the DNCG. Issy and Yzeure. Issy have threfore dropped 3 divisions in two years as they were in D1Arkema back in 21/22.

Lyon have confirmed today that they have signed on a free Kadidiatou Diani from PSG on a four years contract. She makes a huge bump in wages to become the top earner at Lyon.

So, if you're outside France, you would want the matches you're interested in to not be on TV?

One interesting thing we have heard from coaches for the newly created play-offs is it is has downgraded the interest of the regular season games because you just need to finish in the top 4 positions. And then anything can happen in one off-games.

Someone mentioned a scenario where it finishes 1. Lyon unbeaten 2. PSG 3. MHSC 4. Fleury and the Lyon Fleury game goes to penalties and Fleury goes through, while MHSC beat PSG 1-0 on the rbeak from their single chance. Then Fleury wins the final and PSG win the 3rd place final. You could end up with Lyon unbeaten getting 66 points not even making the Champions League, with Fleury direct to the Group stage and MHSC to round 2 while PSG goes round 1.

The FFF created the play-offs in order to satisfy the broacaster by creating a narrative with more potential drama..

Since when she's named like this? I don't remember hearing that at the World Cup about one month ago.
