Noel le great and his band NEVER cared about women's football. The french women football has lost all the advance it had few years ago comparing to some other countries. Now he is gone, hope things will change, especially if JMA, among others who could be really interested by women football developpment, invests at national level.
PSG 0 - Bordeaux 0 (PSG 5 - Bordeaux 4 on PKs) 1) I'd be quite surprised if none of Groenen's coaches considered/have considered playing her as a right FB/WB. Her crossing has been good/great this season so far in my opinion (i.e., great setup for Diani in the 5th minute preceding Chavas' great save on Martens), and her chase down block on Dufour in the 10th minute was highlight reel worthy. 2) Geyoro was POTM in my opinion, and Picaud came up big with a critical interception in the 2nd half to prevent a tap in for Bordeaux. Groenen and Jean-Francois were good in their respective 45 minute cameos, and Vansgaard and Fazer were good off the bench. Subpar matches overall from all of PSG's starting attackers, Hamraoui, and both FBs. (Karchaoui's misplayed pass kickstarted Fleury's comeback in the 4-4 draw, but her wide play has been sorely missed.) 3) Excellent PKs from both teams in the shootout.

I think a lot of fans have criticized fixture congestion in the women's game before when there wasn't really any (apart from maybe Liga F), but PSG and Lyon do have a short period of serious congestion coming up. Are their April 1st matches set in stone (just two days after their UWCL 2nd legs)?
The games will be played Sat 1st or Sun 2nd, you would expect them to ask for the Sunday slot and the FFF to agree.
PSG 4 - Stade de Reims 0 1) A statement first half from Li Mengwen as she grabbed a great assist for Diani and made a great run/almost assist for Martens shortly before Bachmann's goal. Didn't think she was good in the second half, but she made a good forward pass to Diani for Vangsgaard's goal. 2) Vangsgaard with a great goal and a neat assist in her half an hour of action. I'd consider starting her instead of Martens for the 1st leg vs Wolfsburg. 3) Albert was not quite on the same page with her teammates today, but good drive/energy nonetheless. Fazer had a good cameo; her pace/work ethic coming off the bench has been great. 4) Diani with a goal and two assists. Her very impactful season continues. 5) Hamraoui and Lawrence did their best to get Reims back in the game to start out the second half. Hamraoui grew into the game more, but Lawrence, who was decent in the first half, was just poor in my opinion throughout the whole second half. 6) Baltimore wasn't good offensively in my opinion apart from her well taken goal, but she was great tracking back in the second half. 7) Not in her upper tier of matches, but I thought Groenen was solid. Subtle but important defensive contribution to PSG's first two goals. 8) Jean-Francois had a good/great match. Great pass into Bachmann for Diani's goal, and an important deflection following pressure from Groenen/De Almeida to Bachmann on Bachmann's goal. 9) Great play from Bachmann on Diani's goal, and a great finish on her own goal. Last two league matches, she's played well as a 10 with Jean-Francois and Groenen anchoring behind her.
Lyon have extended the contract of manager and assistant manager Sonia Bompastor and Camille Abily, therefore closing the door to their move to take over the France NT. Leur histoire à l'OL continue. 🔴🔵💫 pic.twitter.com/qN258w7WV0— OL Féminin (@OLfeminin) March 16, 2023

Honestly... I'm not surprised in fact that many established coaches in D1 say: "no, thank you." for WNT job offer. Seriously with only 4 months to WWC start... and fans expectations still running high? It has to be an "outsider" now. Things probably be different if FFF would say something along the lines: "the coach will get a free pass for WWC 23, but we want the team ready for next year Olympics in Paris."
Also: the last 10 years of tenure suggest that France NT is a nightmare in terms of players' management, with constant situations of conflict between players or between the players and the coach. You have to feel very self-assured and to have very strong leadership-skills to want to jump into such an environment at 4 months from a WWC. Mourinho himself would waffle.
Groenen made a good tackle that further aggravated the knock she got a couple minutes earlier when she was surrounded by two Montpellier players. Frustrating because she was forced into the tackle because of her own poor touch, but it's also not like she wouldn't have made another challenge like that later in the match. Fantastic shot block in the box from her earlier in the match. Looks like a hamstring/thigh issue, which is what kept her out for a while last season with United. Not sure if she will be fit enough for Wolfsburg; I certainly hope this doesn't put her at risk for missing the World Cup. Diani and Bachmann combined to win PSG a PK in the 1st half, which Diani shockingly skied over the bar, and then, they combined again for a Bachmann goal that Schmitz probably should have been able to parry out for a corner. I didn't catch the second half of the match, but Schmitz and Diani both got red cards for getting into it with each other. Seemed like Montpellier put together some good offense based on number of attacks and dangerous attacks (AiScore), but they couldn't find the equalizing goal. Two red cards (Diani will be a big miss in the league) and an injury to an important midfielder/occasional winger. Unlucky couple of matches for PSG, but they got the win today.
Here is the incident video: Voila la séquence de l'accrochage entre Schmitz et Diani ⚡️😡Si des germanophones nous suivent et comprennent ce que dit la portière à la fin de la video, on est preneurs 😅📽️ @CanalplusFoot pic.twitter.com/iaw4zhVffS— Femmes Foot News 📰 (@femmesfootnews) March 26, 2023 Diani comes late on Schmitz, might stamp her, the goalie is unhappy slaps her, Diani reacts and they fight. Both gets a normal red card. Probably a long ban for both.
Schmitz slammed the ball onto the pitch because she was unhappy. She slapped Diani because she saw Diani make a fist in her direction. I've seen some people defend Diani for holding back, but making a fist and moving it in Schmitz's direction was still not a good look in my opinion.
Wow breaking news , i don't know what to think about that : OL Women sold to an american businesswomen Michèle Kang, for 52% of total shares, 48% remains to OL Group https://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Act...ndu-a-une-femme-d-affaires-americaine/1391062 I think JM Aulas wants to slow down his activities at OL club men and women and get involved at federal level in the developpmnent of a women professionnal french league

WTF play-offs ? It's to mimic NWSL ? Only championship works, playoffs are useless, stupid, rubbish. And it will be 2 matches more in an already busy schedule (championship, french cup, WCL, NT) thanks for new injuries
Three games to go. Title race going down the wire between Lyon and PSG as usual. Fleury have overtaken Paris FC for the last WCL place. And for the joke of the day: Amandine Henry is currently on sick leave as she refuses to play for Lyon until the end of the season, so that she won't get injured. She does not want to jeopardize her transfer to Angel City in July. She apparently asked to be released from her contract many times already, so went off sick.
Reims drew Lyon in regulation earlier in the cup competition, but you'd have to think the title is Lyon's even if PSG were to beat Lyon two weeks from now. Groenen wasn't dangerous enough with the ball, and she was okay/good defensively but not great. However, her two best bits of play got Karchaoui and Fazer into dangerous positions, especially dangerous in Karchaoui's case, and they both showed confusingly poor decision making/execution. I would have taken off Hamraoui or Baltimore for Bachmann instead of Groenen, but Groenen is just coming off a hamstring injury. Karchaoui was somehow both PSG's best and worst player on the day. She set up PSG's best two chances in the first half, and she was at the heart of two of PSG's three best openings in the second half. However, she also failed to either set up Geyoro for a great chance or take a shot herself after Groenen's set up in the first half, and Paris FC's two best chances came from her side with the first coming directly off of her misplaying the ball, which she did a number of times in dangerous areas today.
The magnitude of next weeks big game for the league title sure fizzled out with the PSG tie. Even with a win over Lyon in the match next week, they have to pray that the last place team with one win, scheduled to be relegated, manages to produce a major upset win over Lyon in their last game.
