Lyon and PSG played a pre-season.game. Score was 5-1 Lyon. Lyon looks really deep with the new players they picked up. This was with half of their presumed starters being away for the Olympics. Also, Ada Hegerberg is close to being ready to play.

Yeah PSG are in bad position, they might even get overtaken by Bordeaux who have a new manager in former Lyon and PSG manager Patrice Lair.

The story of the first French team that played in the UEFA Women's Cup 20 years ago. It's a four parts article about Toulouse FC back in 2001-02.

    Was Le Havre relegated?

I have to think Bordeaux will struggle a bit without Shaw...

Yes Le Havre was relegated. Bordeaux I believe is having financial problems and had to lose Shaw.

Shaw left before the Bordeaux financial problems were known, she wanted a bigger club.

    That’s a good size budget for a women’s club.

The French government and the FFF do not mess around with Covid-19 for the new season.

For all official games, the players and staff must present a valid "pass sanitaire" ie proof of double vaccination or proof of recovery from covid-19 or a negative PCR test otherwise the players are not allowed to take part in the game.

While controling the players licences the covid referent will check the pass sanitaires and then the different scenarii kick on:

when players do not present a valid pass they are not allowed to play.

#1 players must be withdrawn from the teamsheet and if the team still has at least 8 players the game is played

#2 Team A does not have the minimum players available with the pass. Team A loses the game by forfeiting it. If Team B also does not have enough players, both teams lose the game.

#3 If Team A has players with invalid passes but refuse to withdraw them from the Teamsheet and the referee does not prevent them from playing, Team B can refuse to play the game and must refer to this case in the matchsheet. The game is not played and Team lose the game by penalty

#4 Same as case 3, but Team B does not refuse to play, the game is played as normal and Team B is not allowed to appeal the result on Covid basis, because they agreed to let their opponent play. Except if a Team A player has produced a fake " pass sanitaire" In that case Team A will get punished at it can go as far expulsion from the competition.

As a rule, the competition organisation will discipline the clubs and referees who do not prevent the game from being played when a team present players who do not have a valid pass.

I wonder why they picked 8 players as the minimum when FIFA Law 3 only requires 7 players to start or continue a match.

The French League started today with Lyon getting the first win 3-0. Endler got her first of many shutouts. Catarina Macario, though listed as a forward, played in the midfield along with Majri and Henry, and showed just why she will be a starter for them.

What do you think of this season so far early? Lyon winning it or PSG again? Any possible challengers?
