ACL injury for Ada Hegerberg. The French transfer windows closes in three days. This is a game changer for the D1 Arkema and the UEFA WCL.
Oh wow that really sucks. Wonder if they already have another star striker on the bench for Ada’s replacement.
Between Parris, Silva, Cascarino and Le Sommer... not really EDIT It's gonna be interesting to see if there will be last minute signing. Rapinoe?
Le Sommer is the only one to have the level for WCL. I have some serious doubts about the capacity of Lyon to win the trophy without Hegerberg and an offensive line that weak. It's a chance Wolfsburg is on the other side of the road to final.
Frankly, I tend to share @Lechus7's opinion that OL could be deep enough to absorb Hegerberg's loss. It's a fact, though, that her contribution to both National League and Champions' League can't be denied. In the latest pair of season, she's been second to just Katoto in Division 1 and I guess you will all remember latest WCL's final vs Barça. One could object that any decent quality FW would be put by her OL team-mates in her same position, being the terminal of an unrivaled offensive pack, but I don't buy that: Hegerberg has a better converting ratio than most other players would have and the chemistry with her team-mates is so well oiled by now that she can't be easily replaced. Of course, other OL's FWs (Le Sommer in particular) are close to her in quality, but OL already dropped unexpected points in the national league this season, so I am not actually saying that everything is possible but OL can't for sure shrug off this injury either.
D14 Olympique Lyon v Stade de Reims Standing Résultats et classement après la 14ème journée de #D1Arkema ⤵️ pic.twitter.com/37WCXGqQtE— D1 Arkema (@D1Arkema) January 27, 2020 To be noted the much expected game between U19 PSG and U19 Lyon for the Youth Elite league ended with a 2-2 draw . Next PSG big things Vicky Becho scored a brace. OL managed a late minute equalizer..
There is also the huge psychological effect for the other D1 teams. It gives them a lift. Also tactically, you defend deeper without problems.
PSG are three points behind OL. It is probably their year if they want to unseat the Champions. They won't have a better chance. At the bottom of the table Metz and Marseille are looking like the two teams that will go down more and more. Metz got five players in to try to salvage their D1 place, while Marseille did not move at all in the transfer market.
rumours has it that OL is after UCLA's Ashley Sanchez(she has yet to sign with her NWSL club) and Nadim isn't happy at PSG so wants to switch over to OL as well. But why worry so much about Lyon? Didn't FIFA's 2018 short list give them 6 out of the 10 players in the world? So minus one will give them still half of the top 10, isn't that good enough?
Well it is possible, the French transfer window cmoses on 31st of Jan. Beggars can't be choosers, they need an extra striker and there is a limited number of players available right now.

Shit pitch, some squad rotation. Noemie Feller from the U20 national team has been signed on a 6 months loan to replace Ada.
She's the girl who had scored a sensational counterattack goal vs OL some months ago (I guess in 2018-2019 season or very early this season)?
So far she is the only player who scored a brace against Lyon this season. It was early this season Reims lost 8-3 against Lyon. It was uncommon to see OL taking 3 goals in D1 Arkema. She is talented, skilled and has a lot of speed. She won the u19 Euro last year.
The video is sadly geo-blocked for me, but, knowing the match, I went back retrieving official highlights of it (although they only show the final part of the action): Feller sure looks like an exciting player and I am happy that OL remembered what she had done against them and gave her this unique chance. I can only imagine how she feels: did she have any interview after the signing?
Thanks you about telling me canal+ videos might be geo-blocked for some people. Here is the highlight you probably was talking about (at 0:25). I believe Feller showed her potential more against PSG than against Lyon when her team were already trailed behind a heavy scoreline. She opened the score whereas PSG were struggling finding the back of the net. No interview from Feller so far.
