A French court is allowing a Pole EU status, based on Poland's "association accord" with the EU, and Poland's pending application.

    1. Am I the only person astonished that Blatter is defending European players here?
    2. If this ruling spreads, then there are 10 new nations that get EU status. How will that effect Yanks? I would think it would help.
    3. If the US has an association accord with the EU, and this ruling stands for the whole of the EU, you can forget about work permits.

    Thoughts?

What exactly is an "association accord"? Some sort of trade agreement or another type of treaty?
