Reading the match report by "the Insider" on soccernet, he called Brad the best keeper in the EPL and saying "Brad Friedel. He is the best keeper in the Premiership by a distance and if Arsenal are looking for a ready made replacement for David Seaman, they should look no further."
    Now, wouldn't that be something?

That is high praise indeed. What's the chance it would happen? Does Arsenal have to give up a foreign player in order to acquire Friedel? It would be great if he can star in one of the top European clubs.

Brad making his way at Arsenal or ManU would be huge and a great sign that America can produce world class players. That and I would finally be able to see him in Champions League in my rare glimpses of European Football.

Arsenal should look no further than the north Americans : Canon, Tim Howard, DJ Countess etc etc...

Does it matter? They have 2 very competent GKs in Kirkland and Dudek. Gk isn't the reason they're on the verge of playing in the Intertoto.

Isn't Brad married to a British citizen? Can he get his EU passport this way?

why would Arsenal need to give up a foreign player? I didnt think the Premiership had foreign player limits...Hell didnt Chelsea have a few games last year where their 11 players and 3 subs were ALL foreigners and not an English player in the whole lot?

As far as Brad and EU passport goes...again, why is that an issue? I dont think he will have work permits problems ever again

I think Brad is perfectly happy where he is and I'm sure the Rovers and their fans are not interested in losing him for the transfer fee that will just weaken their team in the end.
Just my opinion but I would be willing to bet he'll be at Blackburn next year and the year after that.

I've read around here, from the English posters, that so long as a player can get a WP, there's no limit. FWIW.

i've been telling my fellow gunner fans across the big pond we need to sign some young americans. donovan and adu :)

kanu is out in highbury after this season, so space for friedel could be made, but i think arsenal is set on signing rustu.

So many points, so little time.

First, Mike I'm surprised at you, laying all that stupid stuff down about allocations and such. Jeez, come on man. Friedel would be given to Metrostars after a secret weighted draft.

Metrostars in turn will then make a really stupid, incredibly moronic trade to Arsenal, probably for their clubhouse boy.

Don't tell you "freinds overseas" they ought to try for Donovan or Adu. Donovan belongs to BL and wants to hang in SoCal with his underage posse. And Mrs. Adu says young Freddy is off limits.

Friedel's accent has been covered ad nauseum elsewhere.

But most of all, Bradley Freidel would be very likely to give the Euro community a glimpse of something called Integrity, mixed in with another unknown commodity called Loyalty.

Graham Souness saved his career. When the aroogant idiots at Liverpool brought in that Nordic Stiff Westerveld, Friedel was toast. Souness ransomed him, and gave him his career back. The big contract, the World Cup starts, all of that is due to Souness having faith in him.

I seriously doubt Brad will kick him in the balls to go play for that sissified frog over at Arsenal. I know that's how you do it in England; must be just another lesson we Yanks need to learn from you.
