Freedom vs UNC April 10

I just received an announcement that the Freedom will play an exhibition match against UNC in Virginia Beach (Landstown HS) on April 10. This is being sponsored, apparently, through the Hampton Roads Piranhas. Gametime is 7 p.m.

Tickets are $7 in advance and $9 at the gate. Seating is limited and it is general admission on all tickets. Tickets can be obtained at Soccer Plus in Virginia Beach and Newport News. Further info can be obtained by going to the Piranhas website.

April 9, 2004 - WASHINGTON, D.C. - (Friday, April 9, 2004) - The defending WUSA Founders Cup champion Washington Freedom continue their exhibition tour this weekend when Head Coach Jim Gabarra's club takes on current NCAA champion North Carolina Tar Heels on Saturday, April 10 in Virginia Beach, VA. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 pm ET at Landstown High School. Saturday's game will be broadcast live on the Internet at with Ray Martel, David Bunzel and Jesse Ullman calling the action.
The defending WUSA champion, Washington's roster against North Carolina will feature 2003 WUSA All-Star defenders Jen Grubb and Carrie Moore. Guest players Rebekah McDowell (M, on loan from the Boston Breakers) and U.S. national team regular Thori Bryan (D, on loan from the San Jose CyberRays) also will suit up to play against Anson Dorrance's Tar Heels. In addition, college stars Jordan Walker (UNC), Stacy Finley (Navy), Tara Flint (William and Mary), Lindsey Vanderspiegel (William and Mary) and Audra Poulin (Maryland) will play for the Freedom.
