Freedom/Beat training camp in October?

The Beat won’t have to wait too long to start making those strides as the team has two off-season mini-camps set up: one in October with the Washington Freedom and another in November.

Stone says the tone of these mini-camps will differ greatly from those of last year.

“For our players, last year, since we’d been to the Founders Cup, the mini-camps were more of team maintenance,” he said. “This year’s post-season camps are more of a tryout because I want to know who in the off-season is looking for that extra something so they can push our team over the top. If they come in the same player that went out after three months away from the game, I’m going to wonder if they should be back.”

Anyone else have more info on this? Where would they train? Atlanta or DC? I'm assuming a match or two of some sort will be held during this period in October?

The Beat have a training camp planned for mid-October followed by an exhibition game with the Washington Freedom in Houston on October 19, and one with the Carolina Courage in Cary.
