How come no one's started a thread yet? Anyway.

Carolina's been playing much much better lately but hopefully the Freedom will be ready to go due to 1) the recent drubbing by Carolina and 2) of course the Boston game.

-How will the absence of Abby and Skylar affect Washington?
-We get to see more of Minnert
-How many times will the press mention that Mia Hamm-North Carolina thing?
-If Gabarra doesn't put Mia up top this time he probably never will
-Hopefully Siri will bounce back...Jen Grubb too for that matter
-Our other two big girls (Stoecker & Steffi "yes I can head on frame" Jones) will need to step up
-Mia will perform more of her theatrics and as usual the ref will cower in fear and award her the calls

I'm expecting Minnert to start, with our back line probably looking like:

    Moore - Minnert - Grubb - Barr

I just hope Gabarra doesn't try putting Steffi up top again.

Hamm has never lost at Carolina. Courage, nor Tar Heels, IIRC.

    Freedom 4, Courage 2.

Sandra has marked Prinz in the German league and during German practices and may have more success. Problem is Carrie speed and unfamiliarity may not be a good fit as the right back. Worse come to worse, Carrie may pinch in more (er. Moore :) ) to the center to support covering Prinz and Fotop. This may open the right flank requiring coverage either from Stoecker or Kelly G (if she's playing the right half).

Wouldn't want to change anything from a team that gave up 3 goals last game and 5 goals 2 games ago. This team has been a heart-attack for the vast majority of the season. Only Siri's superlative performance has masked the issues in the back.

    "Stupid is as Stupid does..."

Play a German national team defender or a bubble WUSA player. Doesn't seem to me to be a particularly difficult decision.

The question shouldn't be whether to play Minnert or Zimny out right. It should be whether to play Zimny out right or Moore in the middle. Minnert should play.

I would love to see Carrie mark up Fotop and Minnert mark up Prinz with Jen supporting/sweeping behind cleaning up any mistakes.

Streaks are made to be broken. :)

Besides which, the Breakers deserve to be in first place for more than 3 days. ;)

I hope Mia performs well up top and Jimbo finally see's that is where she belongs.

I'd rather see a slow C. Moore on the wing than Zimny out there.

we just need to keep Flopsalot in check. She's been the Courage's hot shooter of late.
