Fredy scored again, albight on a Pk, and is leading the league in scoring after 2 games. I'm guessing the Sporting fans and coaches are happy with what they've seen thus far.

Fredy scored yet again. This time in a 1-1 tie with Benfica. Keep representing little man. Wish you were still knocking 'em in for the Sounders.

The man has been on his game from the jump. This time against no less than Benfica. Talk about taking an opportunity by the scruff and running with it. But Seattle is prospering as well with Martins and Dempsey on board. Fredy is just one of a long list of great players that the Sounders will be able to boast.

    Called it!

So happy for Fredy. His talent has been evident even before he got to MLS. Happy that he's doing so well....

Montero's talent was never a question in Seattle. His work rate wasn't great the last couple of years here and he disappeared for stretches during the season. Glad he is rocking it now, wish nothing but his success. He was the face of the franchise for a couple years.

That Lazy Fredy BS is old and tired. Amusing people still try to peddle it around.

Sporting finally released the information about Fredy's transfer.

He's on loan until the summer and we paid €1,135,000 for the loan.
If we want to keep him we'll have to pay you an additional €1,173,000. That's potentially a total of €2,308,000 or 3,064,331.60$.

Super cheap for what the numbers he is putting up now for Sporting but a shit ton of money considering his last season at the MLS and the lack of goals he put up in Colombia. Porto's success with Colombians is why Sporting gave him a shot and has paid off big time. I always really liked Montero just felt he was managed badly and wasn't motivated.

How much did MLS pay for Montero? Didn't he cost over $3 million from Deportivo Cali?

Sporting found him because of his profile, he's the kind of forward or manager likes the most, not because he's colombian. Although Colombia is a hot market right now.

I didn't know were to share this, so I'll leave it here. Sounder's Darren Sawatzky, Impact's Wilfried Nancy and Toronto's Danny Dichio are staying at Sporting for a week learning our manager's methods from the youth teams all the way up to the first team.

$1.2 million though part of that had been paid because he had been on loan with us with an option to buy similar to the one Sporting has with us. So when the Sounders finally bought him they paid something like $700,000.

If Sporting buys him from us it looks like we will make a nice profit.

Montero scored again in the 5th min against Braga and also managed to get a defender sent off.

Not that that helps the Sounders.. I'm guessing the Sounders can't sell him to another club, so if Roma wants him, Sporting will have to finalize the purchase then resell him.

Sporting is not giving Montero unless some crazy money is offered in exchange.

1st goal was pure skill from Montero.

2nd goal reminds me of the Hulk and Falcao days back in Porto. I've got to watch this club play.

Yeah.. Twitter has been saying that three Italian teams are interested in him. I wonder what this means in regards to him finally breaking into the Colombian national team.. I know Colombia has good strikers already, but you have to think that his latest run at least deserves a call-up to see what he does at the national team level.
