mello yello and kk are right.

    Let me correct the error:

I think Freddy Garcia is quickly becoming the best left-side MF in MLS.

As it stands now, today, I would not even consider trading him for somebody like Beasley, for example. No way, thanks.

Having him for a full season will make a huge difference this year.

No doubt about it. Also, Freddy forces the defense to spread more which should provide better opportunities in the center and on the right.

I was impressed with the D he played last year, too. He looked to be one of those guys that is so pesky and annoying it takes you out of your offensive game.

Did you notice Clark's comment that, for the first time, he felt we were 17-18 players, of starting caliber, deep? Depth wins season championships.

One of my wishes for this season is taht Freddy either becomes a great deliverer of the ball on set pieces or is able to consistently challenge the keeper on set pieces from 20-25 out. There were numerous times last year where he just wasn't getting the ball where it needed to be, and lord knows we haven't really had much success with anyone else in that area. If he can develop that part of his game I'd be ecstatic.

That said, I don't think he's becoming the best, I think he already is.

I agree with Crewtoon and, for that matter, Hang. Freddy is a quick, never-tiring player on the pitch. How many times last year did people comment on this? If he is able to deliver set balls consistently, Freddy will become the most valuable workhorse the Crew has seen...

One of the things I admire most about Freddy is the way he never gives up. Especially sensed on the defense. I loved every time he ran his nuts off to get back and help out, stayed toe-to-toe with the ball carrier, and caused a lot of disruption.

I can't wait to see him this season. Especially since I think our depth is tremendous and we've improved many facets of our game. As previously mentioned, he helps to spread the D with his flank play... look at our other additions and how our flanks have improved. I think we have a real shot this season, and I'm pumped.

The best part of it all, is that Freddy just kind of appeared out of nowhere. Hardly anybody knew who he was when his signing ink was still wet. I don't know who scouted him, or got him on the Crew radar, but kudos.

McBride should be buying Freddy a steak dinner after every game. Brian should get better service from BOTH sides and the D won't be able to beat on him as much.

Freddy won't be an unknown this year, though. I'm sure the better defenses will try something more creative than the simple knock him down strategy they used early last year.

Or to McBride for a knock down header to Cunningham for a goal.
