Watching Adu play last Saturday, he did a couple no look passes and tried a few moves that didn't quite work. Eventually he will get them to work and probably add more to his arsenal.

Questions: If Adu develops into the player it looks like he will, will the rest of United develop with him?

If he's making wild and sick moves leaving defenders spinning to the ground and then he lays off the ball in a great position to score, will the other players know what Freddy is doing and where the ball is going?

Will the league salary cap affect how United can keep a high level of players around him?

Who is the best play maker on the field that can get the ball to Freddy? Does United need to try to find one if there isn't one.

Can the announcers just say he is a rookie and not "the 14 year old?" Everyone I talk to immediately says, "He is not 14." So what, but still let's just call him a rookie and lose the age discussion.

I have only one thing to say about this thread:

Refer to the team as "Freddy United" another time, and I'll virtually castrate you.

Sorry, should be Freddy/United, as in regards to.

Only after they stop saying "40 year old" before they say "Preki."

Whatever Andy, Preki just says he's forty. He doesn't look a day over 32 to me.

Argh! Less real age talk, more baseless speculations! :)

    Fair enough.

You know, with Preki's recent cracked leg bone, I'm sure they had a chance for a bone scan!

Well that osteoperosis does tend to catch up with the old timers... Shame really. :D

I think that DCU will continue to develop with Freddy. His teammates get to work with Freddy every day and have seen what he can do. They know that when and if Freddy reaches his full potential, they stand to benefit by working to be in the right place and playing off of Freddy.

We're not there yet where Freddy can truely be the main cog in the team. (When will that happen? Who knows - some say yesterday, some say 2 or 4 years from now.) So getting Freddy the ball right now isn't that big a concern, however, if the past two games are any indication, Convey, Earnie, Olsen and Dema look quite capable at feeding Jamie and Esky uptop. I can't see why any of those players couldn't work with Freddy.

As for keeping quality players - the MLS cap is what it is -all teams have to work with it. I don't see how that could keep DCU from fielding quality players that can play with Freddy.

    Just my two cents.

umm... how about moreno, stewart, convey, olsen... i'm sure these guys can handle it.

let's just see freddy catch up to the team before we worry about him leaving the team behind.
