How good do you all think this Freddy Adu will become? He looks and plays a lot older than 13. Also, what do you all think of our very own Wayne Rooney (Assuming you've heard of him) and Manchester united visiting with David Beckham in the summer (Possibly).
1) Quite good, barring injury, etc. I'm hoping that other 14 year olds are working harder to develop their games because of him. 2) If he doesn't have a Gazza-like tendency toward fat, you have a great one there. 3) If David Beckham was in my kitchen, I would only leave my living room to throw his ass out. Same with the Nevilles, Ruud, etc. Won't go across the street to watch them.
1. freddy - havent seen him play yet, very few of us have the stories being told are pretty damn exciting i will see him play in mid july here in minneapolis 2. rooney - only seen glimpses at the end of the matches when he has been subbed in scary how fast he makes an impact and causes chaos with the other team love to see it, and would love to see much more 3. beckham and man u in usa - hahahahaha, no one knows who the poor guy is over here well a few do, but not really his team is obviously famous and selling massive amounts of tickets for their 4 games i am going to the game in l.a. vs club america i am still really dissappointed that they are not playing a match against a mls squad but the question popping up of course is will beckham even be a part of this tour now
Hard to say, since I've only seen stock footage of him. But he's got skills. Definitely a rising star. He's got a solid strike and with the opportunity he is being given, it's sure to challenge him enough to make him world-class. They were supposed to come to my town, but it will be Juventus and Barcelona instead. I would have gone to New York (about a four hour drive) had their game there not been midweek.
1. I saw some clips of Freddy the other day and he's got some amazing skills. He has a lot of potential, but he's only 14, so we'll just have to wait and see. 2. I love Wayne Rooney. Absolutely amazing talent. He's probably my favorite player. I like Everton too. 3. I wish I could go see them play but all the games for the EURO tour here in the states are sold out.
I saw Freddy Adu at the Dallas Cup and he is incredible. Freddy uses his dribbling to wow an audience more than Rooney I believe. I haven't seen very much of Rooney, only what I have downloaded off the internet and he appears to be more of a lethal striker (example being if you saw his first premiership goal against Arsenal). Adu could stay to gain some weight and grow a couple of inches so he can finish his runs instead of get knocked over and just draw a foul. Both are brilliant players.
Somewhere between Pele and Immortal would be my best guess Well, I thought he was next and all, but now I have a new theory. Brian McBride made Rooney look good. While this doesn't explain the England National preformance, it's a theory in progress. I wish my dad would take me!
They only palyed a few games together-6 at the most. Rooney doesn't need other players to look good he is just oure class himself. What do you all think of McBride and Max Moore?
I love them both. They both run themselves into the ground, and their skills are underrated. Mellon was comparing Rooney and Adu, and said that Adu uses his dribbling skills mroe and he's right. But Wayne Rooney is not like Alan Shearer in that he never dribbles. Rooney doesn't dribble around as much as Adu, but when he gets the ball, he's just very intelligent with it. He's capable of turning defenders around, taking them on or beating them with speed, playing a perfect pass, he has tremendous vision, his first touch is flawless, he's never scared to take a shot, and he can't get knocked off the ball due to his size.
No its not a put down. I genuinely wasn't sure if you'de all have heard of him or foolow english football.
of course we have heard of him Murphy.....he sounds like a great player.....actually from what I have read about his skills he sounds like he plays a lot like Donovan......my question for u murphy is....has England heard of Adu???
Don't worry dude I was only joking. It seems you're new to Big Soccer. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how closely we Americans here follow English soccer.
They didn't play that much together. I'm too lazy to look, but if they shared the field, I think it was only briefly at the end of one or two games.
I was at that game. Please note the following: 1. Adu was playing 5 years up, the rest of the team, 2 years up. 2. Tigres entire strategy was to foul Adu as soon as he touched the ball, recognizing that they could not stop him (Mexican players foul? Shocking). Adu did not fail against Tigres; the rest of the team did not pick up the slack.
ESPN has a cool video profile of Freddy Adu at their website (it's in the bottom right corner of their front soccer webpage). It's well worth watching if you've never had the chance to see Freddy in action. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/index?ver=us&cc=5901
We get a couple of Premiership games a week here (Fox Sports World), so all it takes is a bit of effort and we can see a lot of English football. We not only know who Rooney is, we even know who Kelly Dalglish is.
I think this should answer your question: http://footballforums.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=45497 PS - I do know who Freddy Adu is as i spend a lot of time on these boards!
Wow! I just checked out that link. Man, I thought the arguments on BigSoccer were bad! There's all kinds of anti-American and anti-English venom being spewed back and forth there.
I went to see Freddy play a few weeks ago. I have a glow about me now that won't go away and a special healing power that I don't understand yet. My tooth ache went away too.
