His appearance in Letterman was very smooth as well. He appears mature beyond his years, which is a damn good thing. Laughed his way through a very shameless Nike plug, pulled a stupid human trick....very good job.

Hudson was at the US U-23 vs St. Kitts and Nevis match. Along with 5 of his current United players who played in the game.

 

Good god, the kid sounds like freakin' Superman. Not for the soccer, but for having his head on straight. It's unreal that a 14-year old (or college freshman for that matter) could be so grounded.

His fam is right to be damn proud.

Attendance is down about 6% compared to last season. Adu certainly couldn't hurt.

 

One of the things that caught my eye from the Post article was that Tony Yeboah is his uncle. I assuming it's THE Yeboah, who played for Ghana, Leeds and most recently for Hamburg. Not a bad relative to have in your corner.

That is not THE Tony Yeboah you refer to. It is another Tony Yeboah, unrelated. Tony Yeboah in Ghana must be similar to Dylan Owen here...everybody has an uncle with the name.

One thing that has irritated me from the main AP article is the fact that it states Adu is only 5-8 140. Only? How big is Bobby Convey? How big is Ben Olsen??

 

Many people don't realize that size isn't as big of a factor in soccer as it is in other sports. I mena we always talk about a linebacker whois 6-3 and 250 lbs. bigger is considered better in America, which is not always the case.

 

Uh, let's see, Kevin Garnett, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant. Most American sports fans are likely to be familiar with a few other high schoolers who became professional athletes. Compared to then, 5'8" 180 lbs is pretty small.

 

Only??? He's 14!

He will not be 15 until next summer i still think he has time to grow another couple inches
