Freddy Adu is now officially a citizen of these here United States of America! May drinking and general merriment commence. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A5796-2003Feb13.html
Maybe this will become one of those famous moments in history so, like, in the future, when people ask you where you were when you heard that Adu became a U.S. citizen, you can say you were on a plane over the Atlantic and the announcement was made by the pilot or some such nonsense.
Breaking News: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dy...-2003Feb14.html Freddy Adu becomes homesick and sentimental. decides to return to ghana to play for the ghanain national team. U.S. soccer set back 20 years.
whats funny is the [R] in the title of this thread.... talk about the big brother paranoia set into our minds by the moderators.... name change from bigsoccer.com to bigbrother.com
Actually the article has the results of the game in which he scored 2 against the Chicago Fire. That's probably why the [R] is there.
Damn! Now I know the result and I was waiting for this game to be broadcast on FSW. Doesn't anybody understand the [R]?
If Kornheiser is talking soccer it must be big news! I have to say I was surprised and happy to see this in the Post this morning.
He read the article, then said blah blah blah, he looks like he's thirty. He will play pro the first day he can. More blah blah blah.
Freddy is the thirteen year old U-17 phenom. Fredua is his younger brother, who plays for one of DC United's Super-Y teams. Also talented, though perhaps not as advanced as his older bro.
Actually GersMan posted on the Junior forum that they are both named Fredua. The one playing with the U-17's goes by Freddy and the younger goes by Fro.
I've read in a couple places that his younger brother wants to play for Ghana. But if Freddy does well with the US men maybe he'd change his mind. Does anyone know of any pair of countries that had two brothers play against each other?
