From the latest U20 roster. A number of sites say he's an '06: Defenders (9): Freddie Anderson (Stoke City/ENG; Manchester, England), Luca Bombino (LAFC; Saugus, Calif.), Grayson Dettoni (Bayern Munich/GER; Munich, Germany), Aiden Harangi (Eintracht Frankfurt/GER; Reston, Va.), Ethan Kohler (Werder Bremen/GER; Campbell, Calif.), Drew Murray (Freiburg/GER; San Jose, Calif.), Nolan Norris (FC Dallas; Fort Worth, Texas), Owen Presthus (Columbus Crew; Columbus, Ohio), Chibuike Ukaegbu (Sacramento Republic FC; Roseville, Calif.) https://www.ussoccer.com/stories/20...-off-2025-with-training-camp-in-south-florida On the U21 roster: https://www.stokecityfc.com/Teams/u21 Reportedly headed to Cork City on loan: https://www.thesun.ie/sport/14493648/cork-city-stoke-freddie-anderson-loan-waterford/ From the club: The centre back, who is the son of former England international Viv Anderson, has featured for regularly for City’s Under-18s in the 23/24 campaign to date and earned his debut for the Under-21s last month at Leeds United. https://www.stokecityfc.com/news/2023/october/24/freddie-anderson-signs-first-professional-contract/ Background on Viv: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viv_Anderson I haven't looked into it -- no idea if his dad has a U.S. passport, but he wasn't born here as far as I can tell. Citizenship may be through his mom, since I think (but I guess I'm not sure) Freddie was born in England.

One kinda interesting wrinkle here is that it looks like his agent, or at least one of his agents, appears to be his older brother Charlie, who played at lower levels. TM has him as a '91. Charlie appears to be the oldest of three children for Viv, the other being a daughter, whose mother may be different from the boys' if this page is correct. One article I came across called the boys' mom his "childhood sweetheart," which doesn't mean she can't be American, but I just can't say for sure. https://www.oldham-chronicle.co.uk/news-features/13/local-sport-news/83602/upholding-the-family-name https://www.transfermarkt.us/charlie-anderson/profil/spieler/235080 https://sportsbrief.com/football/54216-all-viv-anderson-black-footballer-represent-england/ Viv has the distinction of being the first black MNT player for England. In this reminiscence he says his parents are from Jamaica. https://www.englandfootball.com/art...erson-england-first-black-international-story
From Stoke: Anderson, who turned 18 in October and qualifies for the USA through his mother, marked his Potters first team debut with a goal in August as City progressed in the Carabao Cup at Carlisle United. https://www.stokecityfc.com/news/2025/january/10/freddie-goes-stateside-for-international-duty/ (The link above doesn't go into further detail about his eligibility.)
He's now on loan with Cork City in Ireland: https://www.corkcityfc.ie/blogs/news/freddie-anderson-joins-on-loan-for-2025 He should be there for all of 2025 as Ireland runs on a calendar year season. Started in 2-1 cup loss:
