i partially agree with the differences between lamps and tiago, but my point was i think he is the best option we currently have if lamps goes doww, in terms of a complete midfielder. granted joe cole might get the first look, and tiago would take his normal role. either way i never want to see lampard off the field.

I think it absolutely scary to think of Lamps and Gerrard in the same linup with Makelele. Oh my god, gotta go, I have to change my underpants...again

EDIT: oww, that was post #500, now I have to change my underpants again, again.

I truly find it amazing how quickly we forget about JT. We really take him for granted I feel. I mean he's the captain, the heart and soul of the team...and he's Chelsea through and through. He's the only starter on our team to we didn't have to buy.

John Terry is the future captain of England imo. Lampard is class. He would walk into any squad.

Mel, what's gotten into you agreeing with me and make logical statements.

Who are you and what have you done with my Mel B!!

I totally agree with you though. I actually think that JT should be starting over Rio right now and before the next World Cup should be named captain.

i kind of see the two of them as the collective face of CFC, what represents us. How many players in the world have two classy, fairly young, and talented players at the top of their game like this that represent their club?
Who do you all reckon is the core of the team, the guys that get along the best and play with the most heart and soul for eachother. Id have to say JT, frankie, guddy, duffers, gallas. With a couple of guys like bridge on the fringe. i dont know, just random thoughts.

Well JM wanted his thoughts added to this thread:

"It means I can rest Paulo Ferreira and play Glen Johnson, rest Frank Lampard and play Scott Parker", JM, at least according to the mirror.

do you think that means parker takes lampard's role? i dont. especially if joe cole or tiago is also out there. rearranging can be done.

Hard to tell, nice to have several options and a fluid system.

As I said earlier, if had to face a big game with out Lamp, perish the thought, I would prefer and not be suprised to see Gud or Duff drop into that role. Cole needs to improve, and get JM confident with, his defense to get the nod in a crucial match. Though Tiago uncorked a Lamp like shot early today he has not convinced me for that role.

I like Parker but has not showed himself to be enough of a link attacking player yet though I think he has more potential & upside in that area than some believe, still young and learning.

As I think abot it more, behind Gud & Duff in a pinch, I might go with Mak and Tiago/Parker back and Smertin taking the Lamp like role.

    Re: Frank Lampard is Awesome

Mourinho singled out Frank Lampard for praise after the midfielder completed his record 126th consecutive game in the Premiership.

He added: "Lampard is great, the way he plays is the way he trains, so his motivation to play is his motivation to train.

"He's a strong boy mentally and physically and if he steers clear of injuries and suspensions he could set a record that is impossible to catch.

"It's unlikely he will get banned because he's such a fair player."
