It's kind of sad to see Thierry Roland passing away. Football is a lot about nostalgia, to find back the emotions we had once we were kid : the first pro football game you have been to, the CL games midweek where you could only watch the first half time and learning about the second half with your classmates who were lucky enough to have their parents let them watch the whole game the day after, the first time you buy a football jersey, the first time you play a game with your club club, at school, the panini stickers exchanged at school, the posters of your idols on the wall, watching the VHS like "le foot en folie" about the european campaign with some friends or even later, in 2002, I remember a teacher brought a TV to watch the game against Uruguay in class. This is the popular footbal, the football of our childhood that is disappearing with him. Thierry Roland the voice of the NT with Larque.
Sweden is a dangerous team. French supporters should be scared of Ibrahimovic and especially the stability of France's central defense - can Mexes and Rami cope with him?. The Swedish have major quality in their midfield with Kallstrom and Elm.
We 've one of the most talented midfields in the Euros, so we should dominate possession. Sweden is dangerous, but their blackline is poor, and they have a decent keeper. As long as we respect Sweden we should win by a good margin.
Didnt Sweden get knocked out already? All their playing for is pride now, but to be honest Ibra is nothing to be worried about.. All the games I have seen him, anytime he gets the ball he refuses to make a single pass to his teamates.. Then when his teamates have it, he shouts and screams at them to pass him the ball... I am sorry but Ibra is the most over hyped douche playing today... You guys have nothing to worry about Allez les blue
Sweden is out already, yes. Whatever they do, they won't qualify for the next round. J'espère quand même une victoire franche, histoire de bien montrer que cette équipe monte en puissance.
RIP Thierry Roland I remember watching the Euro 2000 final and when Trezeguet scored and Thierry was on the call. Just it was so memorable.
Laurent announced today that the team may be slightly different than the one against Ukraine. I will not be surprised to see M'Vila and Koscielny starting for Cabaye and Mexes. Giroud and HBA should see some playing time as well. In any case, les Bleus need to win and finish first to avoid playing Spain in the next round.
actually the great zlatan can do great things, but with sweden it's all for nothing since he is indeed badly disconnected from his teammates.
as i've expressed elsewhere i see no crying need to avoid spain next tuesday, although we will anyway. the turnover will be even bigger than you say. ribéry, nasri, cabaye and benzema will all be rested for reasons of... rest! m'vila will play in diarra's spot both to rest alou and to get a foot in the stirrup for the rest of the tournament. koscielny will play for one of the CB's, and RVR will be at RB, if only because he deserves to play at least one match. i could even see mandanda playing except going that far could tick sweden off too much. the one spot i feel will NOT rotate is LB; not because pat evra is satan, just because clichy has proven a bit better and the new hierarchy needs to be hammered in. another player i don't see starting is menez but not because i am viscerally anti-menez (guilty as charged your honor): he does have something to bring to the table but whomever we put on the wing will have to help out with the mighty zlatan and he's far and way the worst defender in the group... the only thing that could happen is he picks up a yellow that would deny us his services in one match where he would be undeniably useful, a quarterfinal against italy.

I would be really shocked if there was that much turnover. I think Blanc wants the attacking players to get to know each other better and gel. I also think he wants to win the group. I think there would just be too much of a drop if HBA, Giroud, Martin, and Malouda came in for those four. I could see Debuchy being rested because he is on a yellow. If this were a warm up game I would expect it but we still need a result right now. And if the players really can't play six games in a month maybe they should not have been brought anyway.
With the Swedes dominating in the height department, France needs to try something other than crosses into the box. Mexes... Wtf????!!!!!
not a good first half. Ben arfa seems to be trying to make something happen with dribbling and deep shots. I think we need to play a little quicker on the counter to open them up. And also play better defensively
¡¡¡¡F************CK!!!! 0-1 we have to answer to keep from many of us having major anxiety attacks. Ben Arfa needs to be subbed. Time for a Giroud-Benzema attack.
Sweden 1-0.... Deserved. France is totally lethargic and unimaginative. Not sure why Blanc decided to start MVila and Diarra together.
Seriously Laurent, what were you thinking when you started Mexes? Now he got a second yellow card. He is out for the next game. Seriously, why keeping 2 defensive midfielders when you losing?....Take one out and bring Giroud or Valbuena in...
