Reported on soccertv.com September 11, 2002 FOX Sports International has purchased US TV rights to the Spanish Primera Division. Coverage begins on September 14 at 6pm ET with same-day delayed coverage of Real Betis vs Real Madrid. Does this mean Fox Sports World will begin sjowing games this weekend?
It's not on their schedule yet. I think Currie Cup Rugby still occupies the slot S-TV.com says is devoted to La Liga.
Man, am I stoked. For my money, the best league in the world. Unfortunately, I base that on results from European competitions and not actually seeing the league. Until now.
Hooooooraaaaaaaaaaay! Soccertv.com now reports that Fox Sports World will begin showing liga games this weekend with the RM-Betis game. Oh, happy day!
Eurosnob This is great news from FSW - a very tense, entertaining league to watch. Definately the best collection of highly skilled players.

WOW! This made my week. Plus Real Betis is my La Liga team. It will be great to see them against Real Madrid.
Outstanding! I let me cable lapse after moving; now, after hearing this, I just called AT&T to re-install this Friday.
Well, looks like I'll have to bite the bullet on a satellite or digital cable. This is too good to pass up!!!
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!! La Liga was the missing link in my soccer TV schedule. Not anymore...
Guys a headsup on the Betis-Real Madrid game. I am a Betis supporter and for now the game will not be televised in Spain and for that matter here in the US of A. The Betis president Lopera has refused to allow television cameras into the stadium because of non-payment of last years television rights that are still owed to Betis. He is using this game as leverage in his battle and what better game than the Real Madrid game. More people will buy tickets which means a sell out. More season ticket holders will renew their tickets, and all those Madrid fans will be ************ out of luck! Both sides are still trying to work out the financial details as the game approaches so there is still hope that an agreement can be worked out and the game televised. this is very good news... anyone know how long the deal is for? and the bigger question... WHO WILL BE THE COMMENTATORS? ** I hope they are able to use the SKY feeds Please do not put us through hopkins and bretos Cantona-----
I was in Spain for two years...was thinking long and hard whether getting my masters was worth leaving Spain (and la liga).... ...figured that I would probably come back... And now...this... LIFE IS GOOD. (there goes that 4.0....)
Yeah, good news but why not on Fox Sports World Espanol. Juan Carlos was right. New World Spaniards could care less about Spanish culture. Here they rather watch the crappy Mexican League where every game is a disgrace to the career of Antonio Carbajal instead of the best league in the world. I have always insisted that there is bias against La Liga in North America either from the broadcasters or the fans. I mean why is it is shown in Central America but not to Hispanics in the U.S. or Canada. Ridiculous. Especially with the Chilean league on strike.
That's a new one what is a new world spaniard? Saludos y viva er eurobeti manque alfonso y lopera! Pichi
