Fox Sports and Soccer? IT LIVES STILL! (note: the deal includes women's world cup qualifiers but apparently not the mens)

Messi’s Argentina and Neymar’s Brazil Highlight CONMEBOL Copa América 2021™, Kicking Off FOX Sports’ Summer of Soccer on June 13
Marta’s No. 7 Brazil Headline CONMEBOL Women’s Copa América 2022™
Comprehensive Package Includes Prestigious Men’s and Women’s CONMEBOL Copa America™ Tournaments and FIFA World Cup™ Qualifiers

    LOS ANGELES –
Global superstars Messi, Neymar and Marta become an even bigger part of FOX Sports’ world-class soccer portfolio as the network today announces a long-term agreement with South American Football Federation CONMEBOL, the continental governing body of all South American football associations. The new deal expands the network’s elite soccer roster by bringing more of FIFA’s top-ranked men’s and women’s teams and players to FOX Sports beginning with the prestigious South American tournament CONMEBOL Copa América 2021™, and also including FIFA World Cup™ and Olympic qualifiers. Today’s announcement was made by Mark Silverman, President, National Networks, FOX Sports.

“CONMEBOL is the perfect addition to FOX Sports’ elite slate of international soccer properties,” Silverman said. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to continue to grow the game in the U.S. by showcasing some of the best men’s and women’s teams and players from around the world as they suit up for top international competition.”

FOX Sports’ six-year agreement with CONMEBOL kicks off this June with the CONMEBOL Copa América 2021™ event in a massive ‘Summer of Soccer’ for the network.

FOX Sports will offer more than 1,500 hours of soccer coverage throughout the multiyear deal, highlighted by:

    • 2021 – CONMEBOL Copa America
    • 2022 – CONMEBOL Women’s Copa America, qualifiers for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™
    • 2023 – CONMEBOL Beach Soccer and Futsal
    • 2024 – CONMEBOL men’s and women’s Olympic qualifiers
    • 2024 – CONMEBOL Copa America and CONMEBOL Women’s Copa America
    • 2025 – CONMEBOL U-20 men’s and U-17 boys’ World Cup™ qualifiers
    • 2026 – CONMEBOL Women’s Copa America
“FOX Sports has an excellent reputation for presenting and promoting world-class football events across its platforms,” said Alejandro Domínguez CONMEBOL President. “They have been instrumental in growing the game in the United States, and we are thrilled to partner with them to bring the excitement of CONMEBOL’s 2021 Copa America to the fans in the same manner they’ve been able to do so with the men’s and women’s World Cups.”

With today’s announcement, several of FIFA’s top-ranked teams and players have an increased presence on the FOX Sports family of networks, including Lionel Messi and No. 8-ranked Argentina. Ranked No. 3 in the world, the Brazil men’s side is led by Neymar, while the country’s seventh-ranked women’s side is fronted by the legendary Marta. Edison Cavani stars for No. 9 Uruguay, and Arturo Vidal and Alexis Sanchez lead Chile, while James Rodriguez guides Colombia. CONMEBOL countries have won a combined nine FIFA World Cup™ titles to date.

FOX Sports heads into the summer as the television home to the biggest international soccer tournaments in the world, now with the FIFA World Cup™, FIFA Women’s World Cup™, CONMEBOL Copa América™ and Gold Cup televised across its networks.

This is probably too far off to guess, but are we looking at FS2/FS+ here?

Most likely with FS1 and OTA FOX sprinkled in.
