Hope I don't jinx it as it has not been officially announced yet. The word is that Sinisa has been dismissed and that a pre-contract with Delio Rossi exists. Born in Rimini 26 January, 1960. Giancarlo Rinaldi (Fiorentina blogger): "Some concerns in Florence, if it is Delio Rossi, that it might spell problems with Valon Behrami from times at Lazio. #fiorentina"
So Lecce was the Serie A squad my daughter and I followed (after Torino was sent down) when Fiorentina was in the lower divisions. I was "away" and my daughter would watch Lecce and it would give us something to talk about during visits, phone calls, etc... It's tough to follow Serie C sides from where I was... Lecce finished 10th in Serie A in 2003-2004 with Delio Rossi as manager and Corvino as DS. Corvino would go out and find young stars-to-be (think Chevanton, Bojinov, Vucinic...) and they'd have one or two great seasons under Rossi and then they'd sell them for much more than they were worth. Fiorentina has a lot more opportunity to hold on to these kinds of guys than Lecce had, though. Rossi uses a 4-man back line but is pretty adaptable with the rest.
I really, really like consistency in philosophy in most things that I do. In my work, I like to have colleagues that have a similar world view and philosophical approach to our field. Finally, we have the same at the Franchi.
This is who I wanted to replace Prandelli. It's not going to be easy picking up from this point but this was the right move to make. I miss Miha luck, but he was a terrible fit, while Delio Rossi has a proven track record with young, attacking orientated teams.
Here is a good write-up on Rossi. http://fiorentina.theoffside.com/team-news/this-is-delio-rossis-fiorentina.html
This article theorizes that we may use a Christmas Tree 4-3-2-1... When at full strength something like... Boruc Cassani---Gamberini---Natali---Pasqual Behrami---Kharja---Montolivo Jovetic-----Lazzari Gilardino
I am interested to see what becomes of Cerci and Vargas. If they do not fit Rossi's plan I imagine they could be sold in January to bring in some of his players.
I would honestly love to see Vargas at least given a chance to play as a left back again. I think Vargas is better suited to a 4-4-2 than Cerci is on the right. Cerci really, definitely, seems like an odd man out especially as Delio Rossi is known to really despise giallorossi candy boys. Ok, I made that last part up. I would think that Ljajic and Babacar could be major beneficiaries of Delio Rossi's hiring.
Let's see, we are still far away from a dream-team, but what i've read in this thread about Delio Rossi pleases me. Pasqual is a first-team regular.. Vargas is too strong to fight with him every god damn sunday for the first eleven. Also the weekly rumors, that top clubs are hunting him, is a pain in the neck. And if a top-club pays... he's gone. Give him a great longterm contract or let him go this winter. I had to search a translation for this, u mean he's the fith wheel Fiorentina has to think long-term, so better he leaves this winter too. If he doesn't play regularly, he kicks up a breeze.
Delio Rossi has used a 4-4-2 before so Vargas may still have a spot other than LB. Exactly! And yeah, Cerci is not Donadel. He will kick and scream if he's not played, I believe.

I don't have access to the former Lazio and Palermo boss's email inbox but, if I did, I imagine it might look a bit like this. From: Andrea Della Valle. Subject: Back into Europe. Dear Delio, You may be aware that Fiorentina used to win games at Anfield, push Bayern Munich to the limit and light up the Champions League. Lately, however, we have lost to Chievo and...CONTINUED HERE

Fullbacks Bittante Alan Center Back Rozzio Midfielder Salifu Winger Matos Ryder Strikers Babacar Gondo Three of our most promising youngsters; Camporese, Acosty and Agyei; are off with their national teams.
That presser was fantastic. He's definitely a thinking man, which I like. The link on footballitalia was just fantastic too. "...many of us have deserted the Stadio Artemio Franchi and prefer to spend our Sundays going for long strolls in the Cascine reminiscing about years gone by." Rossi's welcoming committee: 11/19 Milan (H) 11/27 Palermo (A) 12/4 Roma (H) 12/10 Inter (A) Yikes.
Honestly the only one of those that has looked good is AC Milan but, yeah, less than an ideal time to take over the club. What he *doos have* in his favor is the international break.
