http://www.planetfootball.com/article.asp?id=125681&cpid=12&title=Joy+to+follow+American+dream Any heard of this guy before? I guess he is a defender. I wonder where 3rd degree ranks this guy.
I have heard the name but have not seen him play so can't say where I would rate him. I wonder if he would be in the Draft? Same question for Salyer actually, could they be discovery signings? I will add him to my Draft pool page, which is a totally unoffical source and ranking. http://www.3rddegree.net/season/pick_bios.htm
That article says he's going into the draft. He and Salyer will both go into the draft as long as they're signed before then. He's either a left back or a right back, I'm not sure which one. I'm not sure how good he is, he didn't make the 2001 U20 WYC team, he was just a pool member.
This is great. Not because I'm excited about the guy coming to play in MLS or anything (I'd never even heard of him), but because the league has gotten good enough that even guys who play for clubs in Europe don't know for sure if they're even going to make an MLS squad. It also speaks a lot for the league that the guy thinks he'll have a better shot of making the Olympic team in 2004 by playing in the States than in a lower English division. It used to be that MLS would slobber all over old stars from Europe (ala Matthaeus) or would fawn over any ex-pats who wanted to make their return to the USA after less than stellar Euro careers. I like the future.
