After two adjournments , the Court of Milan ruled this Tuesday against the defense presented by Rafael Leão, ex-Sporting and currently Rossoneri player, in the dispute with SAD regarding the attachment of part of his salary: Record found that there is a green light for the immediate deposit of 300 thousand euros, referring to the salaries of the Portuguese international, in the account of the greens and whites, 20% (1/5) of the 1.5 million euros he currently earns. The recent Italian champion and best footballer in Serie A, who in 2018 unilaterally terminated his contract with Sporting, contested the decision to pledge his salary and assets, a way found by SAD currently led by Frederico Varandas to supply part of the payment ordered by TAD (court Portuguese, in March 2020), which sentenced the footballer to compensate the lions in 16.5 million euros precisely for this breach of bond, a figure that with interest already exceeds 20 M€. This is, however, a different process than the one that is still running in the CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport, international instance) and which in February already partially decided on the case, giving reason to Sporting, which asked that Lille, club at which Leão signed after the termination, was jointly responsible for the payment of the amount to be received, a value that has yet to be defined (the initial request exceeded 45 million euros). The second part of the case will be settled at FIFA, more specifically at the Dispute Settlement Chamber, since the court based in Lausanne, Switzerland, considered itself incompetent to do so. Sporting did not wait and asserts itself in Portuguese justice, which has already defined the amount of compensation. In conclusion, 1/5 of the Lion's salary will go monthly to the green and white SAD account; and the footballer is, according to the Italian press , in the process of renewing with Milan, which can raise his salary from €1.5M to €4.5M per season.
