Kevin Crow on Ljungberg and Foreign Salaries The interview with Crow ended about 15-20 minutes ago and I managed to get on at the very end and asked him about the situation with Hanna Ljungberg deciding not to play in the WUSA the past two seasons and also asked about the difference in salary between the Founding Players and the top internationals under the new CBA. Here's an excerpt from what Crow had to say: "The Founding Players came in with five year deals and the top internationals are coming in under that, but when you look at what the internationals can make in our league vs. what they can make in their leagues, we pay substantially more money. There have been two teams now, San Diego for a couple of years and I believe San Jose who were after Hanna. She didn't come for reasons in my interpretation other than money. She plays on a club team over there (in Sweden) with about eight fellow National Team members and their season is actually longer than ours. She actually felt that the competition and the prepartion for her National Team she was better off where she was at then coming into our league."
