Agreed. Also, they will keep Biello for now, because he's far more important to the organization as the WC and new stadium liaison.

Was Pepe the guy from Colombia that they signed, but changed his mind and wanted to stay? and instead of working it out with the club, the Revs insisted on forcing the guy when he didn't want to be here.

Came across this Burns story from the 2011 season here on a major, major fail in player acquisition.

Wow! I wasn't following the team as much at the time, but I vaguely remember the name.

You'd think that with all the paperwork needed, and his passport not having the same name, they would have spotted this. Nobody ever said that Mike Burns was the sharpest tool in the shed, but the tool part fits!

I think that was him. Odd situation all around.

It seemed mystifying to me when Burns was here, but now with the same thing happening with Onalfo, it seems pretty clear that loyalty to management (B/J Kraft) and ability/willingness to propagate their management style is what they value most.

When Burns, Onalfo, Bilello, Feldman demonstrate virtually the same arrogance and condescension over many, many years towards the same fanbase they claim to revere, it's no accident.

Hmmmm, personal loyalty over competence... Where have I heard that before?

Old friend Henry Kessler scored the 2nd of the 6 goals Charlotte FC put up against cross city rival Charlotte Independence (USL-1) in USOC action last night.

Tomás Chancalay had a Man-of-the-Match performance with a goal and primary assist in Minnesota's 2-0 win over Portland.

Jon Bell scored a goal for ATX in the 3-3 draw in Toronto.

And of course Bruce Arena has his team tied with VAN atop the Supporters Shield standings.

Why can't we get players like that?

Absolutely stunning performance by the Quakes to go into LAFC and win 4-1. I will note, on LAFC's behalf, that they're in the midst of a brutal schedule. Since the international break ended at the end of March, this was their played 5th game in 16 days. Their current schedule has them playing Wed-Sat for four more straight weeks. They will wind up playing 13 games in 41 days before they finally have a full week between games (after their May 17th game).

Chancalay with another sweet goal for MIN:

But Bruce's boys storm back with 3 late goals to eliminate the Loons from the USOC.

Too early to think about now, but Revs/Quakes USOC final would be epic...
