Yeah, I think Pablo could make a good HC, he just was in over his head with first position as HC and no Strong Assistants. Playing defense with 11 might limit goals against but sure is hard to score any in order to get a Win.

Ex-Löwe Stefan Aigner hört auf - Erfolgreichste Zeit des Lochhamers bei Eintracht Frankfurt
    https://www.merkur.de/sport/tsv-186...hhamers-bei-eintracht-frankfurt-90792081.html

"He spent five of his fifteen years as a professional soccer player at TSV 1860 Munich. Aigner, who grew up in Lochham, is now ending his eventful career at the age of 33. He announced this on Instagram this week. “A long, intense and, above all, wonderful time is coming to an end,” he wrote."

So he made 145 appearances for Munich, 95 for Frankfurt, and 125 total for the rest of his career with 7 different teams. Sounds like he was essentially a one system guy that couldn't work anywhere else.

Sometimes I wonder how former Rapids who weren’t exactly the world changers we hoped they would be would fit into today’s system.

For example, would Aigner do well in our wing heavy attack? Barrios on the left, Aigner on the right - would it work?

Another name - Doyle. With a more dynamic midfield now than when he was on the team, would Doyle work better as the false 9 than Rubio/Shinyashiki?

Or, how much would a healthy Jermaine Jones (who only played 9 games for us) have solved our defensive midfielder issues…

Just fun games / formations to think about in my head.

In my "head game" if we had J. Jones for 90 matches (in his prime) instead of just 9 we should have more than one MLS Cup. Of course not germane for our current situation. He was an actual "difference maker".

First of all, if you're interested in CONCACAF outside of what gets covered in the typical U.S. soccer media, subscribe to the GetConcacafed Substack. Its good stuff. In today's newsletter Jon breaks down the 3 teams that qualified for the octagonal last night, including a player to watch. For Panama:

Michael Azira sighting - playing for New Mexico United against the Switchbacks tonight. Sam Hamilton is also playing for NMU.

Seb Anderson with an excellent match - an assist and a save off the line.

Hadji Berry (maybe a future Rapid) continues to impress, with an assist and 2 goals. He may be worth a look.

Mayaka has come on 75' for the Switchbacks.

Seven years later I'm STILL angry at Wondo for not getting the 2nd half extra time shot on frame.

Former Rapid Rob Valentino is now interim manager in Atlanta.

Former Rapid who? I hear you saying. We acquired Valentino from New England in 2009 in exchange for Nico Coaluca. We released him before the 2010 season so he could sign with USL (NASL?) Tampa. He never appeared for the Rapids.

How did you come up with this tidbit? Don't tell me you remembered a guy who never actually featured for us.
