One of the announcers mentioned Sanneh's background of playing for UW-Milwaukee and the Rampage being strange or something, but he failed to mention that McBride played for the now-defunct Milwaukee Rampage as well. There are actually a pretty decent number of good players that have played in Milwaukee. Wolniek played for the Rampage. Jimmy Banks, who played for the Wave, was a member of the 1990 WC squad. Manny Lagos went to UWM. Steve Morris should have been on the Canadian national team for sure. Of course, compared to VA or CA it is not much, but soccer is actually really big in Wisconsin, at least as far as participation goes. There are usually some Milwaukee guys on the national futsal teams as well... Due to the weather, there is a lot of indoor soccer.
