It's been nearly a decade of our beloved Galaxy's existence and in that time we've seen many unique players come and go. How about we all take some time to discuss some of our personal favorite LAG's and even your not so favorite ones. Why were they so memorable and most curiously.... where are they now.....? I'll start with one..... Not my personal favorite but what ever happened to Serna? Played for a few teams before coming here and then just disappeared. He was a physical presence on the field but didn't see much playing time.
If i'm not mistaken he's currently a trainer with the Earthquakes. Aside from Moreno didn't he also score a famously fast hat trick?
A couple of years ago, I was told Harut was working for Honda locally. Things could have changed since then.
Well, my former G's who I wanna know about are: Sebastien Vorbe, Zak Ibsen, Marvin Quijano, and Jesus Ochoa. Vorbe and Ibsen were both players who played fairly well and should still be playin pro somewhere.
Whatever happened to Ronald McDonald? I could be mistaken, but I think he played for the Galaxy this past season.
Injury time hatrick vs. the Burn, I think...that game was 8-2, if I'm not mistaken. My brother has his 1996 jersey...
Jesus Ochoa was another good player. I'm not sure how much playing time he got but he was tough. He played well in his time but I'm not sure where he went.
And what ever happened to the Witch Doctor with the big drum? And what ever happened to Twizzle (a/k/a the Flaming Carrot)? Are you nostalgic yet?
I think Manny Motajo found a vocation better suited to his skills and is now doing some great mediation work with Dispute Resolution Technologies. That's him on the left...
In a Rapids thread a little while back, I think it was mentioned that Quijano was playing for a club team in Colorado. I believe Ochoa is playing in Mexico, don't recall the name of the club. Frye had retired after '02, but not sure what he's up to now.
I'm pretty sure that match was abandoned after 80 minutes because thunderstorms were about to hit the Cotton Bowl. It could have been worse. I seem to recall that when Frye retired him going to Law School was mentioned.
