Southampton toppling the Premier League for the first time ever apparently... driving force .... Oriol Romeu
Eto'o involved in a nasty traffic collision in Cameroon but said to be in stable condition, his car was totaled. Best wishes for a speedy recovery: https://africaatrandom.com/samuel-etoo-involved-in-road-crash-in-cameroon/
El Jefe, Javier Mascherano, has announced his retirement what a player. i hope we see him coaching soon. maybe he'll be back at barca one day?
Probably underappreciated. He was quite reliable even when playing central defence, something I thought at the time he couldn't handle.
Suarez tested positive for COVID with Uruguay, and has to isolate. He will miss the Atleti-Barca game on Saturday.
15 years ago today in the Bernabeu a Barca player got a standing ovation as he completed his hat trick. Ronaldinho: https://streamable.com/fkn0p4
Actually, I believe he 'only' scored a brace. Eto'o scored the 0-1 in the first half. It's just that both of R10's goals were great runs that left the defence tackling shadows that one couldn't help but applaud in awe. Probably my favorite Clasico and that includes the 2-6. Check that. The 2011 Champions League semi 0-2 was probably my favorite.

Not really success at Barca but he did have a masterclass performance in El Classico. Absolute genius.
RIP Diego Maradona. Most of the new generation doesn't understand what a damn legend this man was. He did do a lot of drugs but he was a nice man, gave back to the community, loved people. There's a reason people in Argentina adore him and it's not just what he did on the football pitch.
That was the first soccer match I ever attended, at 8 years old. It's a whole story I don't have time to tell now. But thanks, Diego, for helping make soccer an obsession for me.
