The US fan base (and the team) need a new official chant, and even though i forgot the name of the song, its played in various American sports sites. You be familiar with what I'm saying after I say , "OOOOOOO", "OOOOOOO-OOOOOO-OOOOO-O", thats song. If you know the title of it, mention it please, cause that song is more fitting for the national chant.
I think you may be talking about the chant that I believe was originally inspired by Dario Baldan Bembo's "Amico è". It's also used at many Serie A matches. I don't think there will ever be an official chant though.

The one with D.C., and they also play it at Gillete Stadium in Foxboro, that's the one I'm taking about. BUt on another form, people are starting to get behind Deuce's (Clint Dempsey) "Don't Trend on This" as the national team song.
