Well so says Liam Brady. He's quoted as saying:

"The media has given Roy Keane totally unacceptable power. What’s it going to take the next time? Is it going to be the fact that the pasta is not right? I think it’ s turned into a bad joke.

“There’s a lot of very, very fine players who have played for Ireland and had to put up with some of the things that Roy Keane has had to put up with.

“And we did because we wanted to play for our country."

Just as well he's not being considered then.

While Chippy was a great player, he was a useless manager (at Celtic) and should not be considered.

Chippy wasn't just great, he was the best. I don't think he even wants the job, has a handy number at Arsenal and with people like Pennant and Barrett of course as highly rated as they are, he's doing a damn good job.

Anyway, while I agree with that to a point, it has to be asked why players as fine as Brady had to put up with that? Someone has to change it, maybe not Roy Keane, but somebody has to change the whole set up there, and he may or may not have gone about it wrong, but Roy definitely had a point.

He had a point, but went about it completely wrong - which is what Brady's saying.

And I'd agree with him, but, none of us know exactly what happend and going by reports in the paper is a dangerous game.

Paul McGrath said last night that he'd be amazed if Keane comes back.

Then again, the report (which was on ITV teletext) described McGrath as one of Keane's "closest friends". I thought Roy had no friends in football, or indeed any outside of Mayfield.

Liam Brady was one of the best players Ireland ever fielded up there with Roy Keane, John Giles and Liam Whelan. And because he didn't suceed as a manager, he should not be considered?

And we listen to fu cking Eamonn Dunphy (half a player) and Cathal Dervan (no player at all)?

But Liam Brady should be ignored? Fu ck me.

I think he meant not considered for the managers job. Given his record as a manager this very true. As they say, great players don't make great managers.

Fair enough! I did read it as Brady should have no opinion, but you always need a 2nd pair of eyes.

Now, what the fu ck sort of pennance is that going to get me, I mean him being a priest 'n all? :)
