Do you think you could make a list of 4 "all star teams?"

    South American team
    European team
    African team
    French team

I'd try to do it it I dont know as much about all the players as you do.

    All right...

    South America:
    ----------Ospina
    Ceara--Cris--Heinze--Bastos
    Delgado-Sanchez-Lucho-Nenê
    ------Montaño-Lisandro

    Europe:
    -------------Runje
    Azpilicueta-Spahic-Lovren-Dudka
    -----------Kovacevic
    ---------Pjanic-Källström
    --Erdinç-----Jelen------Hazard

    Africa:
    -----------Coulibaly
    Basser---Diawara---Mbia---Taiwo
    Sessegnon-Kaboré-Nkoulou-A.Ayew
    -------Gervinho-Mbokani

    France:
    ------------Lloris
    Debuchy-Rami-Ciani-Cissokho
    -----------Toulalan
    ------Gourcuff-Cheyrou
    -----Rémy-Hoarau-Gameiro

Of course, these are just my personal feelings, and I didn't even see some of the players on the field yet :) Maybe Santander will be the next Cardozo :p or not

This is a very good team. I dont know much about Montaño. Maybe I would have put Cavenaghi there if he hadn't left and Diego Perez I also would put in if he was still around.

This is the weakest of the 4 obviously but that front 3 up top is pretty good. No Obraniak I see. I might have put him in there I think.

If Niang and Chamkah hadnt left they would be there of course. Hmmm this team isnt as strong as I thought. I think the European team could beat them. I might put Makoun and Tiene in there I think.

This is the best team out of the 4 of course. The back 4 is the weak link I think. All in all, some some pretty nice well balanced teams there. Good job.

Montaño = 11 goals plus the assists last year with a promoted team. :)

It's not easy to make choices ;) I thought that since Obraniak has become a sub at Lille, Erdinç would be more useful on a wing, his accelerations are impressive. The weak spots are LB (Dudka is not even a specialist) and DM (Kovacevic is obviously not the best of the world). Maybe you can put Plasil for KK or Pejcinovic - who has excellent debuts with Nice - for Lovren.

Problem with Black African players is, they lack of creative midfielders (precisely, the European scouts select the strongest players, not the most technique). North Africans, on the contrary, have hugely skilled offensive midfielders. Hadji could have been put it to equilibrate the team. But don't underestimate Sessegnon, Kaboré or André Ayew (who played against Bordeaux as he did in the WC, he's only 20, and his father became a top-class player at only 28). And with the Marseille "Black Guard", it will be hard to score them a single goal. Mbia will play in a top 10 club in one or two years. Nkoulou could too. The only real weakness is the GK.

Thanks :p The French youth system has more and more problems with the defenders. They will be a lack of quantity and quality in the next years. Probably an explanation to the problems of the NT. French successes were based on world class players (Amoros, Bossis, Battiston with Tigana, and the Liza-Desailly-Blanc-Thuram stronghold). Today we don't even know who should play because no one is an obvious choice.

What is the limit for foreign players (non-EU) in France?

Is there a difference between ligue 1 and Ligue 2?
