Snake format, everyone picks 10 movies. Criteria is predominantly non-English dialogue track.

Curious if we have enough interest to start one.

Draft 1 - 10 for first round. Second round order is 10 - 1. Third round order is 1 - 10 and so on alternating til the conclusion.

Great, great idea for a draft, cr7. I'll have to sit this out due to not being able to rank 100 some foreign language films, but I will offer commentary from the peanut gallery.

We could reduce the number of movies to 8.

What judging criteria would you prefer? I was thinking that everyone has 10 points to allocate to a movie each and we tally up which draft gets the maximum points so a bit different to how we have done drafts traditionally.

Does this mean I can draft anything but Dutch-spoken films? :D

I think the voting is best done by draft members and any of the peanut gallery that want to comment. Though, who knows, maybe a change is in order...

How would you judge a movie you've never heard of?

I think you will have to sell it very well then; I personally am looking to watch those as long as they are easily available (ie are on Netflix) :)

Good luck with that, Netflix has a limited number of great foreign films, they have limited number of fine films period. Most of what they have is pure crap.

My entries would be predominantly martial arts films.

As long as you sell it well enough and the movies are not obscure enough to not be available on popular torrenting sites, it should be fine.

How many participants do we have?

@Belgian guy are you in? Same for @Stud83 and @Dr. Wankler

I'm with Belgian guy on that fence. I will be on the road a lot, which means I will be on the clock longer than most, and will likely miss a few turns while slowing the game up for others.

Half my 2000's film draft was foreign films. It will be a trick to not repeat myself.

I guess I'll play if Belgian guy plays. I need him to tell me my picks are great to boost my limited self-esteem.

I was thinking of one pick every 8 hours so missing a day or two won't be too bad.

I don't think I'm qualified, I've watched at most 25% of top foreign movies (based on a random list I just found after googling), probably even less.

Okay, sign me up, I think I can wing it, even if I don't make every eight hour deadline.

I'll do it, but I'm not writing out any long, involved summaries or critiques. I just know some stuff will be left off if I don't join and then I'd regret not getting involved.

One question... do foreign silent films qualify?
