Another late goal, however, for what it's worth. Looks like Schillig got the nod for the whole game today, since there's no mention of Moore or Zabala. Tough way to lose, but then again, to hold the Breakers to a tie for that long without training for a bit is a positive.

yeah but its an off season friendly with many players who will never see the roster...i am glad big schill did get the start...looked like she played well boston seemed to have almost all their domestic players.

:sigh: with all these late goals i guess the 90 minuite gang monniker is officially gone hehe

id still keep schillig as the 3rd goalie next year...a hometown draw with potential that is of course if she wants to stay in philly with reserve pay

She's an assistant coach on their women's soccer team, and she has a younger sister, Christy, who's a frosh on the team.

I'd like her to stay around, too...

in that case i think shed make a great fit as the reserve goalie for another season...doubt it will happen though since reserves cant carry past the 1st cut period and then have to be re-signed as full roster players. who knows though...worth considering.

It was a frustrating game to watch. Without any experienced players that can put it in the net, we seemed to dominate play and possesion, but not score.

Our defense was prety much all there - Hall had an amazing game as did Jen and Heather. Melissa had a couple of impressive saves. One save was a breakway by Yohe shot from about 10 yards from the goal.

Tara's shot was very impressive and excited the crowd - much more so than Lilly's or Yohe's.

  9. Starting lineup

    Moore

    Mitts - Iverson - Tietjen - Hall

    McDowell - Fair (d-mid) - Spinelli - Connors

    Martin - Koleski

The game was free substitution. Schillig played second half. Toland and Allgyer came in about thirty minutes into each half for Spinelli and Martin.

Not many shots by either team. Mostly a mid-field possesion game. Both Boston goals were on counter attacks. The first half goal was a broken play that looked like an own goal by Mitts. Lilly's goal was a sraight break away that Schillig had no chance at.

Koleski's goal was a thing of beauty. A half volley from outside the 18. Koleski played a great game. Unfortunately, the sideline ref had it in for her. He was calling offsides all day. She was denied several opportunities.

I was also very impressed by Spinelli. I wouldn't be surprised to hear her name again.

The report on the Boston Breakers homepage has Moore being torched by Yohe in the first half.

Boston had none of their international players, either. Definitely a good day for both teams to look at the 12-18+ slots on the roster.

Janel had good reason to miss the Radnor reception Thursday....

Villanova was on a 2-game road swing through Florida playing U of F the day after the reception, and Miami on Sunday. :)

They're 14th now in the SoccerAmerica top 25 poll and are looking exceptionally good for another NC2A tournament bid.

It was just an exhibition game, but...

Not to be mean, since she's a nice person, but K Hall really struggled. She just can't play the outside position.

Koleski had a great finish. Callie Kamholz headed the ball right to her, however.

    Spinelli looked pretty good.

Moore was out of position on Yohe's goal.

Charge are over loaded in midfield, so Spinelli would have her work cut out for her.

Wasn't she in camp with the Charge in the past?

And Hall should be a central defender, or d-mid, not an outside back.
