One day myshap, I think in a post-match thread, wondered what Jeff Cunningham's statistics looked like with Brian McBride and without McBride. Well, below are Cunningham's statistics broken down into those two categories. However, I have some disclaimers: I considered matches where both Cunningham and McBride appeared, but they might not necessarily have appeared together. I suspect the number of times they both appeared, yet weren't on the field at the same time, is small. The total number of minutes for Cunningham might not match his official totals. Oh well. I considered all competitive matches - regular season, playoffs, Open Cup, international competitions. Although I have no life, I didn't feel like breaking it down by competition. All figures are current through Saturday's match with Kansas City. Cunningham's numbers WITH McBride Games: 107 Minutes: 6,635 Goals: 36 Goals/90 minutes: 0.488 Goals/90 minutes/30-game season: 14.65 Assists: 28 Assists/90 minutes: 0.380 Assists/90 minutes/30-game season: 11.39 Cunningham's numbers WITHOUT McBride Games: 77 Minutes: 5,987 Goals: 31 Goals/90 minutes: 0.466 Goals/90 minutes/30-game season: 13.98 Assists: 24 Assists/90 minutes: 0.367 Assists/90 minutes/30-game season: 10.82 I have no theories or conclusions; I'm merely passing along information.
Did you lose your job or something that you had that much time? Hahaha, dork! Nah, just messin' Cool info.
so... basically jeff cunningham is a pretty consistnat performer... regardless of who hes playing with.
The difference is not dramatic, but I would expect that it is statistically significant(*). Which means that Cunningham's small improvement with McBride on the field is not due to chance. * This statement has been made by way of a SeatOfThePants(TM) calculation. An actual p-value has not been calculated.
well, with mcbride he averaged 62 minutes per game, while without he goes up to 78. hes got 5 extra goals WITH mcbride and a whole 30 extra appearances. i really dont know what this means but there it is.
