I know that this is off-topic, but it was another highlight-reel goal for Mathis -- right-footed half-volley out of the air from the top of the box, through traffic, placed perfectly into the bottom left corner. For anyone who cares here's another stat: This is the first time in a long time that Clint Mathis has scored and the team he plays for lost!
Really. Last time he scored a goal and his team lost was in that 2-4 loss to Germany. On the club level, he hasn't achieved that feat since 1999-early 2000.
