In this months issue, there's a list of thebest 20 clubs (including at least 1 club from every confederation).

There were a fair amount of Euro and South American clubs, with only 1 club reprazentin' CONCACAF.

    It was LA.

Wonder what the MFL fans will think about that?

Two years ago, it would have been DCU. How the mighty have fallen.

    Of course.. Who else?

Seriously.. I read they gave the Galaxy a lot of "points" for potential as a world contender in the future and the future possibilities of the US soccer market. In other words, they were the representative chosen for the future that could come out of this market (USA) should things continue to move up as they have been. LA was just singled out now because they are on top now, here.
There is no obvious reasons to see a lot of potential growth and improvement in most of the rest of CONCACAF (outside the MLS) in the next 5 years of so.

There was a link posted awhile back (pre-Christmas) where the best rate for FourFourTwo was posted as a web link. My sister ordered it for me (X-mas gift) and I've been getting it since with no problems and I think the price was in the $30's. The best I could find now is $49. Hopefully it's in the archives somewhere? If I can find it I will re-post. If you find it please post it again, I'm sure others are interested...

    Kashima Antlers?

And I thought MLS nicknames were stupid. :)

Not as bad as the name of the team Cruz Azul just beat. The Strongest.

The Strongest doesn't seem too bad to me. It's silly, but kind of catchy too.

The Antlers, on the other hand, just sounds plain stupid to me.

I wonder what other nicknames they have in Japan. Maybe the Hiroshima Eyeballs, the Osaka Teeth, or the Tokyo Fur?

    Sapporo!!

am i crazy?? i like all the names! the crazier the better.. and its Kashima Antlers... not The Kashima Antlers...

Emelec in Ecuador is kinda funny.
Sport Boys (peru) is good too.
BushBucks (S. Africa) is one of my personal favorites... though as far as actual teams go i'm all for Jomo Cosmos.

Nagoya Grampus Eight is one of my favorite team names in the world.

The Yokohama F Marinos are the product of a merger between the Yokohama Flugels (another great name) and the Yokohama Marinos.

Naturally I'm a longtime Marinos man.

    F the Flugels!

I am a big fan of Shimizu S-Pulse however, Alex and Ahn, can we be any better on paper?

No, no, Sapporo are a real J-league side, their nick name is all wrong. They aren't called the tin cans, lest in jest by their rivals I would assume.
