St Michael of Owen has now scored in 3 consecutive games - in the League, in Europe and in the Worthington Cup final. But he didn't do any stepovers. So I think he's crap.
Not to be one of those wankers that come by and say nothing constructive but... By rights, this thread really ought to have an 'R' in the title. Carry on enjoying yourselves...I've got washing up to do.
Wanker...!!! And toon. If I was him I'd take the money and run. He'll be the top striker in EPL at 28.
Are you this sensitive about everything? You guys really need to toughen up when folks poke a bit of fun at your players.
Re: Re: For all those 'Michael Owen is overrated' whingers Is this the part that got to you...??? But he didn't do any stepovers. So I think he's crap.
Big-time players raise their games in big games. Moreover, big-time players score big goals in big games. Michael Owen did exactly that on Sunday. And now Liverpool are guaranteed a European place next season, as a result. Owen is still one of the world's elite players due to his ability to come through in the clutch, and to raise his game in important matches. Likewise, I have no idea why people think that Owen is overrated, other than the disease of what we here in Australia refer to as "tall poppy syndrome".
Re: Re: Re: For all those 'Michael Owen is overrated' whingers None of it got to me. I've been reading this back-and-forth between the English posters and some of the US posters for some time, and it seems like the English want to dish it out, but are a bit thin-skinned about the somewhat more abrasive American style. For example, the offhand dismissals of any world club championship, the defense of UEFA's number of W/C spots, the complaints about the weather, the backhanded references to the US' non-tradition, and the expression of Europe hosting every other W/C as an ideal situation rather than as a necessity (it was finally explained in a rational manner by Bauser, to his credit) are as venomous and arrogant as anything any American has ever posted here- they're just more subdued in delivery. But he didn't do any stepovers. So I think he's crap. [/B][/QUOTE] I started to comment on that, but we all know the way Cole stumbled spoke volumes about the level of football he'd been used to versus what he experienced in that moment. I didn't need to say anything.
Nah, it's not oversensitivity, it's the fact that we see it all the time. So it's either some posters don't know that there's a time and a place for 'smack' or, more likely, they actually mean the ************ they say. The English can dish it out but it's always within context and it's always in response.
I thought of that afterwards but then it was too late. I didn't actually reveal the result of the game. Wanker. It was meant to be tongue-in-cheek...... I don't actually get upset when people criticise Michael Owen, and I'm sure the little fella doesn't let it get to him either The post was more aimed at the likes of hkkinggg (who hasn't been seen on here for a while) and his 'Turkey will beat England' threads.
Re: Re: Re: Re: For all those 'Michael Owen is overrated' whingers It really did get to you...!!! I was joking but your defensive diatribe speaks volumes. Are a lot of Brazilians as embarrassed as you about the overuse and uselessness of them..?
