I have heard, and used, alot of styles on the football pitch. These include white ankle socks, taped wrists, bandages etc. I would be grateful to hear from anyone who has any original styles, or any variations of existing styles....
Personally, I wear a wrap around my wrist, support shorts, thick white tape around the ankles, socks over the knees, and white boots
If there is any style i feel identified with is Platini's style, old school, socks down, small shinguards, and most of all the freedom of the shirt over the short.
I aint planning on wearing a uniform und screaming sieg heil. think i might take up the small shingaurds and socks down approach. do you reckon this would look good with small shorts and a large top?
Your style depends on two facts: * The way you feel more confortable playing. * The player you are most identified with. Socks over the knees and white boots are more likely to Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos or Henry. A more laid back style is like Aimar, D'Alessandro, Maradona, Platinni.
I went for the small shinguards and socks down approach in my match yesterday. Man, did i look cool...
This one old guy who used to be a pro always wears his laces untied! Actually he has taken the laces out of half of the holes near the leg so the tongue is hanging out like a dog on a hot day. So his cleats are more like slippers. Seems pretty ridiculous but since the guy is super skilled, it doesn't see so lame. Seems like he knows what he's doing.
Your style to play the game must reflect the style you want to reflect. what about the shirt over the short? I'm against referees will to keep them in the shorts, what do you think?
Yes mate, shirt hanging out every time. rebel against the rules and all that. i want to give the impression of a cocky little sh1t. as for the crocodile handbag, sounds a bit camp to me...
I wear shorts to about mid-lower thigh.....shirt tucked in but baggy and if it falls out I wont fix it........shinguards small and high on the leg.....white cleats with dark socks, black with light.....heh
this is the worst thread i have ever seen @ BigSoccer...it's not an effin' fashion show out there you flammers...
how stupid are you? style on the football pitch is all about how confident you are in your ability. i'm very confident, cos i know i'm amazing, so modelling myself on someone of platinis stature just seems right. You, on the other hand, must be crap. you probably model yourself on frank sinclair. if i seen a defender on the pitch with his shorts round his neck, shirt tucked in and hitec boots, i know i'm going to score atleast a hat-trick. Style lets me know how good the opposition are, and shows them how good i am. opposition beware...
ahahahahahahahaha that is too funny. Anybody can style themselves after a great player, so there's nothing special there. It's sad that you need to make yourself feel better about your shiet abilitys by how you accesorize your outfit. I'm a keeper, and i'll go as far was pulling my socks over my pants but i'll do it for functionality over style. And taping wrists/hands i don't do it to look cool that's for sure. If I only I could play you and snap you in a 50-50 ball you cocky $hit.
It is quite often that you notice trends in more experienced players style (clothing or not). The more confident players will either have very high shinguards or low....and usually take their time running, etc. Its quite funny sometimes when all of the skilled players play and look exactly the same......
