Intresting, Man City needs a top class goalie. Sandy MacIver was "rebuilding" herself lately but still she is not a golie to win the title with or UWCL.

well... Yamashita new club still wasn't announced yet, I wonder... :sneaky: (btw Man Utd also is one goalie short)

Got an email this morning that the WSL, W Championship, and League Cup have been officially separated from the FA, they're now run by an independent entity "Women's Professional Leagues Limited." This is basically the same arrangement as the top men's leagues in England, where the teams are each shareholders in the operator. Nikki Doucet (ex of Nike, Citibank) is the CEO. This has been in progress for most of a year.

    Man City 2 - 4 Man United

(geoblocked: AUT, AUS, GER, SUI, UK)

Wow... City can forget about Championship and UWCL with such poor display.

Keating just gifted 2 goals for United (3rd and 4th), while Alexandri was responsible for the other two (1st and 2nd).

Seriously why Keating, Casparij and Park are in the City starting XI is beyond me.
Keating skills are just above average and she totally lacks consitency.
Casparij doesn't know how to play a fullback, she plays it like a classic winger/wingback... but at least she can read the tactical setup on thepitch... while Park is a headless horseman. She can't read the game, she does nothing in defense, will not commit to cover for a teammate... one of the most overrated players in the league along Keating

One small light in the tunnel for City is Knaak. She has shown some skill and promise in her debut today (mishap on 1st goal non-withstanding), which is more than Kennedy did in all of the season..

4th year on the job and Taylor still don't know how to build a squad that will account for 2-3 injuried players each season and nonetheless stay competitive for championship. :speechless:

Keating was terrible today--a howler of a game. She should have been subbed out after 20 minutes. Not sure why she wasn't. Team can't play direct without Bunny, and it may have lost its confidence with 3 of its best players out with injuries.

    Hello women's football fans!

I hope you are well, I'm a women's football journalist and I am currently working on an idea for a fun quiz segment in a podcast. I am trying to see if this idea could have legs and in order to do so I need 100 people to answer the following questionnaire...

I would be hugely appreciative if you were able to answer the below quiz, which will help me gather the information that I need for the segment.

    RULES:

    1. You are only allowed to spend a minute on each question (I'm trusting you here!).
    2. You can answer as many times as you'd like within a minute as there will be multiple correct answers to each question but please do not guess unless it is an educated guess. You cannot use the internet nor look up the answers!
    3. Have fun! And thank-you so much for taking the time to help! I will provide a link to the final product once completed if you are interested, let me know at maherlorted@gmail.com
Remember that all the questions relate to women's football only,

    Thank-you!

Arguably the most important one for City is the league one, since Manchester City risk missing the Champions' League once again next season. :coffee:

Manchester City are struggling with injuries while Chelsea have a few themselves.
With both teams playing 8 games in March, they will end up with players on their knees by the end of the month.

I suppose it's great for women's football that Clinton's goal today is getting attention beyond the regular social media accounts that cover the sport, but I'm too frustrated to care about that right now. How does a ref at the pro level completely miss Clinton's shirt pull on Baijings? Seriously, how?

Not a good day for refereeing in women's football with Park's goal being controversially waved off in the earlier match. With Park right in the vicinity and then shaping to shoot, the ref was definitely premature in blowing her whistle. Also, given that it seems like Park struck the ball before the whistle, should the ref have just given the goal? I think Hampton may have not 100% tried because of the whistle, but I don't think she was saving that shot at 100% either.

Edit: Thought experiment - Would Kerolin's goal have stood with VAR?

I think both goals would have stood with VAR. Hampton line of sight is hampered by the two Chelsea defenders as well as the City forward.

Regarding the Clinton foul on Baijings, I don't think there is enough contact, but if zooming was done we might it was more than contact and a shirt pull.

I thought it was an obvious foul live, and the close up replay showed Clinton with a quite blatant shirt pull.
