So, I obviously wasn't aware that there are FA Cup matches on Sunday and Monday. I'll retract my previous comment about the possibility of setting up some postponed matches to be played this weekend.
The praise for her hat-trick vs Reading was overblown since her second was a clear defensive/keeping error and the keeper could have maybe done better with her third, but she has been pretty good and seems to be in great form recently from what I've seen/heard. Don't seriously follow Everton though, and as mentioned below, Reading are in 4th with Man Utd still having a game in hand on them. (Reading also have that very strange handball call to thank for being a point ahead instead of two behind Man Utd.) I don't know about Mead's condition, but it doesn't look good from what I've read. Hope she recovers well if it is a serious injury.
Questions (admittedly mainly from Man Utd Women fans) have come about of whether Man City Women will be banned from the UWCL following the 2 year UCL ban just handed out to Man City. The argument that has been given for Man City Women to also be banned is that they also benefit from the sponsorship(s) that were mostly paid for by the Abu Dhabi United Group, which is backed by City's owner.
Not gonna happen imo. sepqr Well they could have but there are only two eliminated teams West Ham and Man Utd and they don't have to play each other in a postponed game. There will be games played at the QF and SF dates though. Storm Dennis this week, might see more games postponed. This time in the FA Cup. Replays are organised the following Sunday ... and in a weeks time it is City v Chelsea.
The full FA Women's Cup Round 5 program : Sunday Arsenal v Lewes** Live on FA player Leicester** v Reading Crystal Palace** v Brighton Manchester City v Ipswich**** Sunderland*** v Birmingham Monday Chelsea v Liverpool ( was originally planned Sunday but moved to Monday due to Storm Dennis) live on FA Player Bristol v Everton Coventry** v Tottenham ** championship teams *** FA WNL Tier 3 team **** FA WNL Tier 4 team
And the Matchday 16 games to be played on the 23rd of February that could be impacted by the postponements of games tomorrow with Storm Dennis: Manchester City (1) v Chelsea (2) title decider Everton (6) v Manchester United (5) who is the best outside the top 3 ? Bristol (12) v Birmingham City (10) relegation decider Arsenal (3) v Reading (4) Brighton (9) v Tottenham (7) West Ham (8) v Liverpool (12)
My bad, double checking; their only two points away from Reading with an extra game at hand & their doing it with a lesser familiar squad than either Reading or Everton. They had an actual strong, mid season recruiting as they picked up Aussie Haley Raso & Izzy Christiansen(from Lyon), but both of them pickup injuries in practice right before their debuts. So if those two finally get back on their feet, Everton might be the 4th next team after all
Arsenal v Lewes off due to Storm Dennis and with the Domino effect Arsenal v Reading next Sunday is off.
And as I arrived at the ground, game cancelled. 3 hours round trip for nothing... Man City v Ipswich is on.
Birmingham won 1-0 at Sunderland ( third division) GOOOAAL! @lucystan37 scores from a free kick ... 1-0 to the Blues & then remarkably before the restart is shown a red card?!! Bizarre scenes @SAFCLadies 0-1 @BCFCwomen 5 mins to go. Still waiting to kick off. #WomensFACup pic.twitter.com/rSYKRs7ak4— Jen O'Neill (@SheKicksdotnet) February 16, 2020

Lucy Staniforth was sent off for giving the fingers to one fan and also some verbals. The fan was also ejected see video, probably because she gave some during the game and the player snapped. 1229082053934600192 is not a valid tweet id

thanks Lechus7 for the link Lionesses on Twitter: "Your 2 0 2 0 #SheBelievesCup squad ✨ *screams* https://t.co/f3NXuwF8oz" / Twitter heads up for Phil Neville to bring a 'newer' lineup(heck, I havn't even heard of Fisk & Maciver before, lol) but glad that Hemp, Kelly & Beth E made it(they werent even on last year's World Clup squad). One point of contention is the snub of players from Man U(remember this team, unlike the foreign dominated Arsenal & Chelsea, actally got a lot of English players); their coach, Casey Stoney, has often been called upon by disgruntled fans of Neville, to take over the NT instead(perhaps poster, Ethan Frank can fill us in on whats the mood like over at the Man U forum/sorry, don't know the link to it) Hopefully Neville comes up with newer tactics as well; obviously turn it into faster transition & stop getting his CB's so isolated as their stuck often defending 1v1 btw...........still waiting more details. but sad story; the popular, Fran Kirby been out of action for several months due to an mysterious virus(though not the Coronavirus). Now there's a new report that it's inflamed her heart. Dunno how serious this is, but prayers for a speedy recvovery!
That is a lot of talent on this English squad. Kirby has been suffering from peritonitus, which is an inflammation of the muscle/tissue /around the heart/ caused by a bacterial infection. There was a story about her yesterday in the Guardian: After being ill for months, she seems to be on the mend, feeling better, but no word on when she might start training again. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/feb/17/fran-kirby-chelsea-fa-cup-draw-liverpool
