There's an archive of the return leg between United and Widzew that finished 0-0 available here: https://www.laczynaspilka.pl/biblioteka/mecze/widzew-lodz-manchester-united-00-01101980 That website has some other matches featuring United and Dortmund against Polish teams in European competitions. They even have matches from the World Cups, including England 3-0 win over Poland in 1986 which may be of interest to you.
Anything to help. I saw the King Otto documentary. They have some great footage from the England v Greece game, including close ups of Beckham taking on Greek defenders. The Sky store has it available and so does Amazon UK. Maybe I can upload the sequence here for everybody. It's really good footage.

As far as I know, it's similar/the same quality as here. Correct me if I'm wrong. 4:3 upscaled, with cropping.
Before they went HD in England, a lot of matches were shot in soft HD using a 16x9 aspect ratio similar to this: They started doing this for the EPL in the 2001/2002. This match between Greece and England was shot 16x9 in soft HD (SD actually). Here's a 4:3 version: If you compare the shots with the video you posted, you will see what I mean.
Thanks @SF19 for this information. I saw such "extended SD" footages on Sky Sports Premier League highlights from 2001/02 and was confused whether it's upscale or something else.
The England FA have posted some matches on YouTube. England's 5-1 win over Germany in Munich can be seen here: I'm hoping they will share the Greece match one day. The only recordings of that game I can find are usually low resolution, even if the source isn't VHS. @Acciduzzu I don't keep a list of matches. I just collect whatever I can and toss them on to hard drives. Mostly Euros, World Cups, UCL, EPL, Series A, and a little Bundesliga and La Liga. I would say 90-95% of my collections are stuff I got from Javier, Pierre and RG football (Alex). Whatever else I get, normally I share with Javier and Pierre because those two do an amazing job with their collections and they find a lot of great stuff.
I really don't understand why these official channels are not doing their job professionally and deinterlace their videos before posting on YouTube...
