So Lunin is apparently a competent PK stopper.

And City's regular PK taker is out (Haaland). I think KdB is their #2. Also out.

Not even sure who Madrid's main taker is these days (I avoid their matches usually).

That Lunin save on Silva just planted a huge seed into the minds of City players.

What was Florentinos interpretation of Madridisomo again ? Play entertaining attacking football with flair as opposed to squeezing out a 1 x 0 result playing ugly ….

When City couldn't finish LPB in 90 minutes, yeah. And i wonder why no Rodri, no Stones in pk shoot out.

Haaland is extremely overrated with a one dimensional style of play. Teams have figured him out.

Definitely their year, unless Bayern somehow can stop them.

WTF are you talking about "play?"

They didn't play. They didn't TRY TO play. They did 1960s-style catenaccio(sp?) for 210 minutes, and were rewarded with a shootout. And then, Silva decided to moronically shoot directly at their keeper.

There was no "play," but they did have a strategy. Good for them.

Meanwhile, their fans wanted to insist that Xavi should have left Lamal on the field, so that he could "create goals," even though Barça were up 2 in the tie.

At the same time, their catenaccio belies their supposed objective of "playing entertaining attacking football." Good for them that they could get lucky/get a result, and maybe Barca should have played wussball, too.

But at the same time, it's a bit hypocritical.

I mean they are 2 teams playing on vibes alone and Tuchel for some reason knows to play vs Real.

But honestly I hate every final possible. BVB the only team I do not despise but even if they reach the final they will lose.

This is what the pact with the monkey paw ensures. What curse comes with it is still unknown to most.

It's almost become the rule rather than the exception that the team that wins the CL does so on vibes (more charitably called "peaking at the right moment") rather than the culmination of an excellent campaign.

See: every LPB win since 2010, Chelsea (2012 under Di Matteo and 2021 under Tuchel)

As it worked out, Aston Villa need to advance tonight to keep hopes alive that the 5th-place EPL team can qualify for the CL next season. Something that would help... Aston Villa

Judging from their starting XI, Liverpool is going for it tonight despite being down 3-0 and playing away while in the midst of a title race. Might get interesting....
