i loved brasilian one when i was there....especially in the nordest zone....moqueca, carne do sol, a lot of seafood
I think when I think of the foods I love, they incorporate lots of seafood using great ingredients. Most Colombian cuisine when they offer fish, it's the same red snapper, pretty much fried to the bone and/or maybe some fish stew soup. I'll say my last visit to Cartagena they did their best at trying to do more with their seafood but wish there was much more variety.
There is a good place I go to that has traditional Pho with sliced beef tripe, tendon, brisket/flank trimmings. The fresh herbs, sprouts and lime on the side are the best accompaniments. I also love Bahn Mi Sandwiches with sweet pork.
Hey guys in your opinion, what is the best way to eat some lovely Yucca Fries? Last I had them was in a nice Latin restaurant when I went to NYC and I went with my mother and her boyfriend and I enjoyed it with a nice steak. Now I am craving to do the same thing again.
Yeah with steak is good idea.....and with fish in stew or fried. Alsl with queso costeño, guacamole or suero costeño
That's a real thing? The most I've seen is fried and boiled. I didn't realize you could make something sweet with it.
donuts (my mom use to make empanadas with yucca instead of masa... I don't like the cheese or the meat in it so I just would make them into donuts) https://www.tastemade.com/videos/cassava-donuts/ yucca cake https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/212941/cassava-cake/ you are welcome.
says it’s a Asian thing which is odd. Parents lived in Venezuela before moving to the us. So not sure if either is a Venezuelan thing. I know the empanadas made with yucca are common. just be careful with both because those things usually are pretty wet. And In oil that stuff explodes
Yeah the enyucado or yuca cake is from colombia...think it is more caribean. The yuca empanadad are called caribañolas and pastel de yuca
My first Bandeja Paisa in who knows how long... I can't remember the last time I had Colombian food...maybe 2017 when I was actually in Colombia??? Had this last weekend when I was looking at apartments in San Diego. You know I am a regular here once I move down there...
Ate at one of the other Colombian places in San Diego over the weekend. A decent place and closer to where I live, parking is a bit of a hassle unfortunately and the environment isn't as welcoming. But I will say that the portions are larger; barely finished my plate!
