Yeah he played once or twice as an emergency 9 at Schalke during an injury crisis. He didn't look good there if I recall.

I dunno... it seems like he and David interchange for Juve and it has been working...,. I tend to agree in that I wouldn't line him up at the solo 9... but Wes and Balo up top in a 3-5-2? When Wes is on with his one-touch passing he can be deadly and he can win flick-on headers to set Balo free behind the D. Food for thought for sure.... but I still think Wes would be better as a 10 since he is so willing to run. If you have him up top all the time you lose the presence on D and many of the hard-earned miles he consistently puts in.

That was so long ago I don't think it is all that relevant.

He did, and Wright was on that team also. But Wes was up top. (If I recall correctly). That calendar year (I think 2020) Wes was Schalke’s leading scorer…. He had like 2 or 3 goals. Schalke was pretty awful at that time

Watching them and Bremen around the same time gave me vision problems for a while.

The guy playing 4D chess is the agent of josh sargent. who, according to transfermarkt, is also phillipe clement's agent.
perhaps different agents, but same rep group...

8/4 G/A in 2024' across all comps. G/A every ~168 minutes. Only 4 league goals in 17 appearances. I thought he was starting to gain some momentum but he hasn't scored in 7 games in Ligue 1. I just keep waiting for him to break out this season and it just hasn't happened. Combine that w/ Pepi's injury and I am starting to really get concerned w/ the 9 position heading into the WC. It's hard to go far in that competition w/o a go-to target man.

As part of a pair of strikers for sure but alone with his back to goal and center back? Dude needs to run, roam and defend. But as good as he has been you don’t want him to be the go to guy when it comes to scoring. He is clearly the most in form YA … let’s hope he keeps the momentum until the WC.

Balogun starts! Monaco (T-10th!) hosting Nantes (T-16th).

Monaco face PSG (also playing today) on Tuesday in the first leg of their Champions League knockout.

It'd be really nice if he'd scored a freaking goal today.

Scored in first minute vs PSG. Header from close range.

Brace for Balo. Ball goes wide and drags two defenders wide. Balo recognizes space, making run down center of pitch, receives the pass from the wing, and with two defenders trying to recover, he blows past them and finishes. Outstanding run. Outstanding finish. Balo, Wright and Ageymang all have a stellar week. Me like!

Reverse jinx? Hatty for Haji in the biggest game in the EFL this season and now Balo with a brace in the CL against PSG. Our strikers are showing up this week.

I know... right? It's tiring having such an effect on the players I root for.

And continues his scoring "streak." Not watching but he scored at 62 to spark a Monaco comeback. Fati just made it 3-2 late in the game (75 as I type).
