https://www.sportsbusinessjournal.com/Articles/2024/07/15/french-ligue-1-tv-deal I still pay for the Sling soccer package so I hope the beIN will continue to do the job.
I saw that but those rights are not for north america. i’m not sure I want to dish out a lot of money for DAZN as it almost looks like pay per view
Len Blavatnik, the owner of DAZN (and Warner Music Group and other 200 companies), is at the same time a donor to both big political parties in the USA, one of the Russian oligarchs who came out of the Soviet Union thanks to his party links and control over aluminum production in the USSR, a backer of Putin, a knight of the UK, and one of the most sinister men alive. I rather pirate than subscribe to DAZN.

3-0 win for Monaco, so clearly they're going to win the league. Balo subbed off during second half stoppage, not on the score sheet. Give that man a fake trophy!
I was at school with him, there are many things you can say about him and be right, but not party links.
So I have Dish and looking at the schedule on BeIN Sports sure don’t see any Ligue 1 games this weekend. Do you think it is a case of just not updating the guide yet? Without Ligue 1 BeIn is of little use to me. remember when BeIN had Serie A and La Liga?
Ligue 1 season starts on Friday, and the French league still hasn't found a new broadcaster (and beIN SPORTS has not renewed its deal). Worrying signs for fans of French soccer in the USA. https://t.co/FkwaRUFYLh— World Soccer Talk (@worldsoccertalk) August 10, 2024
Probably should've lined that deal up before Mbappe went to Madrid and left Ligue 1 with no players that anyone cares about. Also, funny note, 15 of the top 16 players in that league in market value on TM play for PSG (Jonathan David is the other one). Compelling.
Ligue 1 is always a hard sell in the anglosphere. Their market is Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America, for the most part.
Soccer TV just updated all the Ligue 1 games and they are on BeIn sports. Did they renew for north america? now my FuboTV schedule has them as well
I noticed that game showing on my Dish Guide this morning. Yet there are no other games besides that one for the weekend. Maybe games for Saturday will update tomorrow. stay tuned.
https://www.sportcal.com/analyst-co...eeling-from-domestic-rights-own-goal/?cf-view As part of the five-year agreement, which will run through the 2028-29 season, DAZN will pay €400 million per season for eight out of the nine games in each, whilst BeIN will show the top fixture each week, or the second biggest game every other round for €100 million per year.
It would be interesting to see how France domestic TV rights compares to Germany/Portugal/Holland, etc. Seems quite low. And if fubo is buying, I can't imagine it's for much money either... Tempted to make a cheeky comment about how France leaving most of their possessions dirt poor doesn't help and yields to results like this, compared to say Spain or England and their global penetration, but I'll hold off.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_domestic_football_league_broadcast_deals_by_country Wonder no more.
Finally, I found the official Ligue 1 is back on BEIN Sports for North America article: https://worldsoccertalk.com/news/ligue-1-returns-to-bein-sports-for-start-of-2024-25-season/
Man, very interesting. France definitely lags behind Spain and Italy given its larger population and economy. Japan and Mexico way low. MLS in a respectable position comparably.
