Josh Sargent is worth 8 million. I'm not even going to look things up to argue with you, because it's that silly. I'll be lazy and list Transfermarkt value of 7.37 million (down because of coronavirus from 8.25). You can certainly argue Balogun is better than him based on potential. But arguing that Josh Sargent would cost less than 8 million right now is just a wrong opinion.
Weah went for $11 million last summer. If Balogun is being sold for £8 million, Weah is worth more because of, you know, basic math. Also, re: Sargent: Right, because Sargent isn't being actively sold.
dude what are you talking about https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.da...er-Timothy-Weah-joins-Lille-PSG-9million.html
No, I'm talking about a player who is trying to come back after a serious surgery who didn't play for a year.
It’s ok Butters don’t worry about it. Let’s all hope Balogun finds a good environment to develop him. Greenwood, Sancho and Rashford is a lot to have in front of you.
🚨Folarin Balogun Update🚨Set for a move away from #AFC. Move abroad to Germany🇩🇪 looks most likely. Stuttgart, Werder Bremen and Eintracht Frankfurt all interested. Strong interest from multiple EPL clubs. Includes Brighton & Southampton #TBGPOD @Podcast_TBG pic.twitter.com/gZBGDJqbOs— The Beautiful Game Podcast (@Podcast_TBG) September 3, 2020
Balogun is a certified baller and every arsenal fan I've seen discuss this transfer saga is sick about losing him. GGG should be running a full court press on this guy
After watching Southgate hand out predatory callups to Jamaica-eligible players, I don't have much confidence of getting Balogun if he's good.
I don't think those callups for Maitland-Niles? and Greenwood? were particularly predatory both those player have represented England between U17 to U21, and both merited callups particularly with injuries and pull outs. If Balogun gets a run of first team appearances and performs well, than I'm sure England will call him up to the U21s (like Saka, Nketiah and lots of other dual nationals)
Well, ultimately it's up to the player and his priorities. But it's noticeable that 4 of the 7 uncapped players on this roster could play for other countries. As to Balogun, I don't think England has the most formidable striker corps. So success will probably get him at least a "easiest Nations League game" appearance somewhere down the line.
England has lots of dual nationals, 8 of the 11 who started their last match against Kosovo, are eligible for another nation. It’s hardly predatory to pick a player like Maitland-Niles who has around 40 caps at youth levels. I don’t think England’s striker stocks are quite as bare as you think, I’d be extremely surprised at a Nations league pick for Balogun any time soon. U21s selection as I mentioned could be on the horizon if he makes his Professional league debut and performs well.
