Basically, he's suspended one game for the dive that fooled the ref into awarding a PK. Now, I'm all in favor of these types of actions being reviewed and having subsequent suspensions. However, I had not heard that the FMF would be doing that this year. I'm wondering if teams had been advised that this would be happening. Seems like they should have been warned ahead of time. Also, I hope that this covers all aspects of "fair play", including faking injury to waste time, players pretending they were hit, etc. Here's a link to the femexfut article on the suspension - http://femexfut.org.mx/portalv2/default.aspx
Well, it's all there in black and white - Reglamento de Sanciones Well skip sections 1, 2, 6, and 66. They are not really interesting. Here's the meat of the document from sections 67 and 75. So basically FMF can have authorized folks submit video evidence to catch cheats. I don't know if these sections are new but I can't recall any post-game suspensions for diving prior to this incident.
it's obvious they wont be completely consistent, ii'm just wondering to what degree, especially if they start suspending for embellishment. i think it'll become a circus and will end soon, or it will go in the why the mexican league is shit thread.
Just because they do it there it doesn't mean we have to. Next thing you know every player in Mexico will have a ghey haircut like C Ronaldo.
Im in favor of it, here is waaayyyy too much diving in mexico and the mls, and it brings some shame that we cant beat our opponents so we have to dive and hope for the best. During the Aston Villa-Atlante game when the atlante player dove and all of Villa was on him telling him to get up and quit being a puss, even the coach bitched him out and was thrown out for it, i thought it was cool that needs to happen to divers.
Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I would not be surprised that this rule change has something to do with the fact that Club America is nearing the relegation zone. It appears that the directivos are setting up safeguards just in case Club Americas percentage continues to fall. Imagine how handy it would be to suspend an opponents marquee player just in time for an upcoming match against Club America. Expect stranger things to occur if their % continues to fall...
Vuoso and Danilihno both deserve more than one game suspension for their horrific dives. The Picante guys said that the Comisión Disciplinaria meets today. Not so sure if Pachuca's Benitez should receive one, though.
Just throwing something else out there, but on Futbol Picante it was stressed that these types of reviews (for diving, not necessarily for violent acts like Mosquera's), would only be reviewed if they had an affect on the scoreline. Now, having posted the exact wording from the FMF rules, I don't see anything that states that this post-game video review only occurs if the event causes a change in the game's outcome. Weird stuff. Still waiting to see if Vuoso also gets a suspension.
America did make a valid statement that Mosquera's 3-game suspension was a bit harsh considering the cases regarding Dario Veron and Bruno Marioni. Neither of them were suspended 3 matches. 3 games is a bit harsh.
its not a matter of me protecting my club (on the contrary) its a question of calling out the bullshit. How long are people going to keep on believing that America is still being favored and that Televisa is buying off officials?
Until you proof to everybody's satisfaction that they don't. Guilty until proven otherwise. Unfortunately.
