Its official. Got a Text from my friend. The flyers have switched from the Bro Hymn and have aquired a need for the DOOP

As long as they're scoring five goals a game, they can play Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer for all I care.

Good for them. But I heard that the stinkin' Caps used it too...

Caps just used it as one of many songs before faceoffs.

Swore I hear it on the radio broadcast after Briere's goal on the way home from PPL. Thanks for confirming it. And can Mondragon skate?

You did. KnightofNi and I were driving on 476 when the Flyers scored to make it 5-3, and they started DOOPing like crazy. Thanks be to Nowak for us learning this song. Does the U get a check everytime the Flyers use the word DOOP thanks to their trademark?

I can't believe I am posting this, but it turns out the Union Trademarking DOOP ended up being incredibly smart in the bigger picture.

What radio was it on? 610 was wasting time with bouncyball and 1210 was just talking.

Didn't even think to check FM. It's odd, as it makes sense to give the Flyers the higher profile channel, but when it's not their normal station you don't know to look for it.

Yeah, I think it only happens when there is a conflict with the Flyers, Sixers and Phillies all playing. The Phils game ended up being postponed, but the stations had already been decided by then.

I missed one of the last regular season Flyers games for the same reason. I was so pissed.

Definitely prefer The Boils Orange & Black to the techno song.

    Kinda tired of it, tbh.

It should be though, Philly band doing a song about the Flyers. Only real choice imo

The lyrics to "Orange and the Black" go "Let the hats go flying for a Flyers' victory" so playing it after a goal wouldn't really make a ton of sense.

I always liked "Bullies" off "From the Bleachers", thought it would be good to incorporate somehow.

But, I still like DOOP after a goal. Make it a Philly-specific thing, you know?

Yeah but that's not till the chorus and they usually don't go that far into a song. The first 3 verses are pretty fitting

Watched that clip. Couldn't hear it at all.

Really? I thought it was fairly clear. The thumping starts 8 seconds in. The "doop" part around 25 seconds in and continues for the remainder of the clip.

I get the Philly specific thing - but Doop is a Euro thing that got lifted at Nowak's request.
It was entertaining as a nod to him, but I find it generally grating.

Maria( I like it loud) is a Euro thing. Doop™ belongs to the union.

I know that is what you meant, but we should separate the two when we can to avoid confusion.
